Did Jesus have long hair? What about apostle Paul's preaching that men should have short hair?

"And Brother Ryan that... I trust that our Lord will let me be that nimble when I'm seventy-three years old, if I live to see it. I've knowed Brother Ryan for some time now, and I know that he is a humble Christian. When I first saw him, I wondered how would he wear that hair down to his shoulder, that long beard, why was that? You have to know Brother Ryan to know the reason. If you know him, well then, you'll know why. God only made one; that's him. No one else take his place. Without the hair to his shoulders, and his... Now, someone says, "That's woman's hair." That doesn't bypass for you woman, unless, say you got hair went to your shoulder. Read the Greek on that. Feminish hair is way down; hair at the shoulder was short hair. So the man used to pull it around, cut it off, that was short hair, but women let theirs grow all the way down, way down. 

 So that's the reason... Jesus, His picture there shows, but He didn't have long hair, not by no means; He had short hair. "He said, "Cutting hair, what's that got to do?" Brother, let's stop here just a minute. I just feel somebody resented that. Might've been out on the wire somewhere. Listen. A hair to a woman is a Nazarite vow. Hair to Samson was a Nazarite vow. And when a woman cuts off her hair she--she absolutely denies her Nazarite vow that she is a Bride to Christ, because there, that one thing, she spoils the whole picture. Correctly. A Nazarite is "one that is consecrated for a purpose." Is that right? Really catchers of God's sons like it was as Jesus' said, "As it was in the days of Noah (the women fair and the sons of God begin to marry among them) so will it be when the Son of man returns." And their god thinks it's great, and pretty, and scientific". God of this evil age 65-0801M

"Now, what if we go downtown to look for Jesus, that He's the same? We'd see a man come along with a robe on like He wore, and the psychological thought of it that He had long hair... We have no record of that, that He ever had long hair. We don't know. But say that we did--we did see a man that looked like the artist's picture that painted of Jesus. Apostle Paul and his authority on what he preached (some think he preached his own doctrine -read the following Bible quotations to know the truth).

Galatians 1:8-9 -      ⁸ But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed  ⁹ As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

A MOTHER'S LOVE

Reminds me of a story of something happened in a city near by. Some years ago a mother had sent her girl away to college. Her name was Mary. And so the girl was a fine girl when she left home. She'd... Her mother had washed over a washboard, and so forth, to--to pay her way through college. And one day she went to visit home. And she'd got mixed-up out there with a mixed class of people. And she got in fellowship with an unbelieving girl that was very worldly and ungodly.And it's bad when you go to segregating with such as that. Separate yourselves from the things of the world. Come out. Don't be better, try to act like you're better; but don't mar your garments with the sin, "Don't be partakers of other man's sins." If you want to speak a word of encouragement to people, all right, but don't have to wallow with the pig. You stay away from it. That's right.
 
And she'd got down into the gutter with this girl. And then when she come home, the train stopped in front. And the girl, setting at the window, looked out. And there was an old woman out there, that was all scarred all over her face, and her neck drawed way in, her little hands bony like that, looking with all that was in her heart, watching for someone to get off the train.And this girl was with Mary; she said, "Mary, look at that old haggy-looking woman." Said, "Isn't she awful looking?" And that was Mary's mother.
And Mary, because of the feeling of her friend, she said, "Yes, she is, very."
And when they got off of the train, Mary caught in that stage, her mother run up and said, "Oh, darling, I'm so glad to see you."
And Mary turned her back to her mother. And she said, "I don't know you," and started to walk away.
 
And there happened to be a conductor standing there, and he jumped on this box, and he said, "Wait a minute." And he attracted the attention of all around. He said, "You child of misery, how could you turn your back on your own mother because of that little flip that's with you? Aren't you ashamed of yourself, Mary?"Said, "I happen to know the case. Listen here, young woman," to the other girl that had made the remark about it. Said, "That's her mother. And Mary will never see the day that she was half as pretty as her mother. I knew her when she was young." And said, "She was happily married. And she had this little baby, Mary. And she was upstairs, and she had the windows open so that the--the breeze would... And the little cradle up there." And said, "She went downstairs and was doing her washing, hanging them up in the backyard. And fire caught in the house. And before she knew it, the house was all aflame, the neighbors running. And when Mary's mother come around, said, she said, 'My baby! My baby, it's upstairs!' And the firemen said, 'The house is out of control. There's no way to get to it now.' But what did she do? She grabbed her little apron off of her, that was wet with wash water, and wrapped it around her face, and run through those blazes. And the policemen trying to stop her. She run up the stairs real quick. Why? Her loving baby was laying there. And she grabbed the baby, and she thought, "The wet garment protected me. But now if I take the baby back through, it'll cut it to pieces, those flames.' So she wrapped the baby in her own wet garment, held it in her bosom, and run through the blazes. And they tore the meat from her face."
Said, "That's the reason she's ugly. She's ugly, that you might be pretty. And you mean you'd turn your back on your mother that made such a sacrifice?" In shame she bowed her head.

''I WANTED THE CHRIST THAT HE SERVES''

Sometime ago, a minister was preaching. And--and there was a man who'd been attending his church for a, oh, quite a lengthy time. And he came that morning up to the altar, and he said, "Pastor, I now wish to give my testimony and my surrender to the Lord Jesus, which I have done last night."

And the Pastor said, "Well, I am sure glad to hear about that, John, to know that you have decided to finally come and give yourself to the Lord, because we don't want to hurt your feelings, but we know that you had been very wicked. And we know you have mistreated your family. You gambled away your money, and you drank it up, and lived a horrible life; and your family went without. And it gives my heart joy this morning to know that you have come forward now and going to surrender yourself to the Lord Jesus to become a different person, to serve Him."

He said, "Thank you, pastor."

He said, "Then just what... I want to ask you something. What sermon did I preach, or what text did I use, or what song was sung in the church in the hymns that made you so decide to do this?"

And as the man looked at him in the face, with the tears running off his cheeks he said, "Pastor, it was none of your sermons, though as good as they were. It was none of the choirs singing or the specials, though as good as they were."

He said, "Then would you tell this congregation why you have made this decision?"

He said, "I worked with a man who is a Christian, and I've said everything to him. I've called him a holy-roller. I've called him a religious fanatic and everything, and it didn't bother him a bit. But he lived such a life till finally in my heart, all along, he has won a place that I want to be like that man. And that's the reason that I ask him to lead me to Christ. Changes to the domain name

God bless you my dear readers wherever you are!
I am writing to let you know that you are special people and God loves you. You are special people because  you still have the desire to read and learn what God has in store. The word of God is no longer important to the majority of world dwellers nowadays, we indeed have to thank God for all what he has done on us, keeping us protected from the forces of the enemy that reigns the world.

As you may have already noticed, I have changed the domain name from joshuamhalila.blogspot.com to www.mwanatai.info (mwanatai is a swahili term for an eaglet). I thought this way the domain makes more sense than appearing  in my name. After all, I have been trying by the grace of God to gather what I think the eaglets would love to eat (fresh meat) and consequently the new name of the domain. Currently both the domains are active but the one appearing in my name will be deleted after sometime.

May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless you more and more!

Pope Resignation on 28th February and the lightning that struck St. Peters Basilica few hours after announcing his intent to resign on Monday 11 February: A Coincidence?

Pope Benedict XVI announced on Monday 11 February 2013 that he was going to resign on 28th February 2013 and few hours after he announced, the lightning struck the famous St. Peters Basilica (see pictures and videos). 

Was this lightning a sign from above?

Why 28th February and not any other date? 

Did you know that On February 28, 1963, over in Arizona, U.S.A., a constellation of seven angels appeared to William Marrion Branham in the form of a ring shaped-Cloud? These seven angels came from the presence of God revealing to him the hidden mysteries that were sealed in the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation.

 Is it a coincidence of dates? Why 28th February? 
 Did you know that February 28th 2013, the day when the pope officially resigned, marks 50 years since the seven angles appeared to William Branham?  Did you know that 28th Feb 1963 was Thursday just like it was Thursday on 28th Feb 2013.

And what do we know about number 50? (Jubilee, Freedom, Pentecost). Let's remind ourselves what Bro. Branham told us about the 50th year jubilee.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; for He has anointed me to preach the acceptable year of the Lord, to set the captives at liberty, and to give sight to the blind. And when He got through reading, He set down and hand the Scripture back to the priest; and He said, "This day this Scripture is fulfilled in your ears and eyes." You see it? For He was giving forth the warning of the coming forth of the great gusher of Pentecost, to set at liberty every one that was slaves to sin and bound.

Now, at the going forth of this jubilee year, it was to be sounded throughout all the land. A trumpet was to sound. And this trumpet would make the distinction... For the trumpet was the fiftieth year sound that led every slave that had been bought, or become poor--poor and could not care for his own...He had fell beneath the load. And his master for his debt had bought him and had placed him into the field as a slave. And he had to serve him, for he was too poor to redeem himself. But God said, "Remember, you were one time slaves yourself and down in Egypt. And I have freed you. Therefore, at the sounding of the trumpet, every slave, no matter how long he's been in or how short a time, he's at liberty to return to his family, to return to his people and be free of every debt, for it is a time of jubilee". And what about the lightning that struck the dome of St. Peters Basilica? Was it a sign from above? Nobody  knows but Bro. Branham once said; 
"And when God gets ready to do things great, the first thing God usually does is make it known in the heavens above first. He always declares His works in the heaven before He does on the earth.

 "Always, God shows it by heavenly signs first. Since when did He ever do anything that He didn't show a heavenly sign first? Think of it in every age that you wish to, and God always does show signs in the heaven first, before He does anything on earth. What did Jesus mean in LUKE 10: 18 when he said ''I beheld Satan falling from heaven like lightning''? 

All right, while he is getting that one, maybe I can answer another one. All right, sir. [Brother Jimmy reads the next question: "Explain I beheld and Satan as lighting falling from heaven."--Ed.]"And I beheld Satan falling from heaven like lightning." Over in Luke [10:18] is where... Does it give a Scripture there? Just... Well, I suppose that's what it is.
"I beheld Satan falling from heaven like lightning." Now, that would... Now, I'll just kindy outline this, and if it doesn't do it, then you--you just let me know, and I'll go into detail. Do you remember, we'll--we'll get that when we come into--farther on into the Scriptures on our study over there in that... You know, Jesus...

69 That was immediately after that Jesus give His disciples power against unclean spirits. And they went out casting out devils. Are You A Fool To The Extent Of Ignoring Even Events That Have Been Clearly Seen And Recorded? Are You Searching For Scriptures When You See Such Events (Just Like The Magi)?

There can be someone so foolish as to say, "I refuse to believe the sun's a shining." Hide his face, go into his basement, close the doors, and say, "The sun's not shining. I don't believe it, you bunch of fanatics, just go on out there." Well, we can't help that fellow; he's mentally wrong. Now, if he wants to stay there and wait till night time comes, and gets his little lantern, and starts out, looking along, thinking he's got some light, well, he can go ahead like that. But you can't tell him.Neither will he be able to enjoy the blessing of the sun. He will never enjoy its great rays that shines down, health-giving rays. He will never be able to see the beauty of creation until he comes out, really, with that and walks in the light. And Jesus is that Light.

BLIND BARTIMAEUS

 Blind Bartimaeus, one more character we'd speak of just for a minute. I'd like to give you his life story, how that he was--how he made his living by little doves a-tumbling. And so, in them days they had a lamb that would lead a blind man, just like they have today a dog that leads the blind.And so one day, the story told that--about blind Bartimaeus, that (Jesus, before He'd come on the scene and...)--that he had a little girl that was sick. And he told--went out and cried, and prayed to the Lord, and said, "Lord, if You'll--if You just give me this life of my little girl... I--I've never been able to see her, but if You'll just let her live, I promise You tomorrow that I'll give You my two turtle doves." That's what he had to entertain the people. So many beggars, he had to have something unusual. So two little turtle doves that tumble over one another...
So he said... Well, he--he offered--give the offering, because the child got well.

 A few nights after that the wife got sick. And he made his way around the side of the house, and said, "Lord, I haven't got nothing else but my little lamb that leads me." He said, "If You let her get well," said, "I'll--I'll--I'll give You this lamb." And so the next day his wife got well.So here he was, going down. Said... The priest said, "Where goest thou, blind Bartimaeus?"
He said, "I'm going down to offer this lamb." Said, "My wife... Jehovah healed my wife." And said, "I'm going down to offer this lamb."
Said, "You can't offer that lamb, Bartimaeus." Said, "That lamb is your eyes."
He said, "But if Bartimaeus will obey his promise to God, God will provide a lamb for Bartimaeus's eyes."

 And one day he heard a racket coming through the city, some of them hollering, "Say, you prophet of Galilee, they tell me that you raise the dead." That was the priest. "We got a graveyard full of them up here. Come up and raise some of them. They tell me you raise the dead. Let's see you go raise one of them. Some good men laying up there; let's see you raise them."Others said, "If thou be a prophet, tell me what I done yesterday."
Some of them said, "Glory to God in the highest. Make way for the King of Israel." All kinds of fusses, and hundreds of them...

 Now, if you'll go--ever go to Jericho and mark where he was setting, he was almost two hundred yards from where they went out the gate. Now, no doubt people crowded over him, and the poor old fellow setting there in the wind with--shivering, the rags around him, and no lamb to lead him, and no, and no doves. And he has probably no fuel in for the winter. And it might've been around October and it was cold. And there he set in that condition. And he...Some kind lady must've said to him, when he said, "Who... what's all the noise about?" You know, there's something strange, where Jesus is, there's always a lot of noise. See? That's right. He said, "What's all the noise about? Well," he said...
This kind lady (she must've been a follower of Jesus), she said, "You know, it--it's Jesus of Nazareth."
"Well, who's Jesus of Nazareth?"
"Well, you know, the Scripture says that the Lord God's going to raise up a prophet."
"Oh, yes. You mean the Son of David. Is He on earth?"
"Why, I have seen Him do just exactly... He is the Word. That's exactly."

 He cried, "Oh, Jesus, have... Oh, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Now, he knowed He's done got apast. He knowed his physical cry could not be heard. But he knowed if He was the Word, and He was that Messiah, He'd have to be a prophet, 'cause Messiah was a prophet. And he knowed that He could... His faith in God... No doubt but what he screamed out, "Jehovah, have mercy on me! Have mercy! Now, let me be able to stop Him!" And he cried, "Thou Son of David, have mercy upon me!" Probably, all the screams, He couldn't hear it, but his faith stopped Him. Jesus said so.And Jesus stood still. I want to preach on that, maybe one Sunday, "And Then Jesus Stood Still." And He stood still. He looked around, and He said, "Your faith has made you whole." At the darkest hour, then Jesus come along.Then Jesus came and called 64-0417

.. These American people will practice birth control, and give a hundred dollars for a little old snotty-nosed dog, and pack it around, and give it the love of a baby. It's a disgrace. Excuse that expression. But that's right.

You need to be ashamed of yourself and repent! Amen! That's the truth. What we need tonight is this bunch of impersonating the Holy Ghost, this bunch of people impersonating the Pentecostal church, ought to hit the sawdust trail down here and mourn under that until God comes down and gives you the Holy Ghost. According to http://hosting-13000.tributes.com, Lonnie S. Jenkins, age 81, of Lima died 5:15 a.m. Friday December 7, 2012 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 9, 1931 in Orange, California to Lonnie Silas and Virginia Campbell Jenkins, who preceded him in death.

A gallant soldier of God

Rev. Jenkins had been a Minister at Believers Christian Fellowship, Lima, Ohio. He had been a Staff Sgt. in the U. S. Air Force, stationed in Japan following the Korean Conflict. As a missionary for 40 years he had travelled to over 100 countries. His latest passion was a worldwide T.V. broadcast called "Global Answers".

Eaglecryradio.com reported that "After a battle with renal failure for the last several months it is with great sadness and pleasure at the same time, to say that our precious brother has graduated and gone on to receive his reward in glory". 

While at the hospital Brother Lonnie gave a farewell speech (hardly six days before he went to be with the Lord) and it's this speech that has made me think of having a post about his promotion to glory. In his speech brother Lonnie speaks confidently, an act that shows an assurance of his better and 'unexplainable' life after death. Bro Branham said "Don't be afraid. Death is just a scarecrow trying to keep you away from something. My, it's so glorious. It's beyond anything that you could think of. It--it's too bad that mothers don't take their children today and tell them Bible stories. Hard to get a pastor that'll do it, let alone a mother. I think there's--there's five Gospels. You only know four of them in the Bible. But it's Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and mother. Mother gets them when they're young.She ought to start them right there before they know anything about Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. And mothers would take more time to talk to their children about God and pray for them, we would have less juvenile delinquency. First of all, it's parent delinquency before we have juvenile delinquency. If mothers would take their place in the house, and a Bible, and pray for their children, and lead them to Christ; instead of going out to some stitch and sew party and play cards, and drink, and carry on, and smoke and... Well, I don't want to get started on that. But however... I... It--it's terrible the way we--it's doing.Today I laughed at my poor little wife. We was up to Howard Johnson's to get us one of those three D's. You know that's, usually I don't eat very much during these kind of service. And we were up there. And let me say this with reverence and with respect: If these American mothers and fathers would put more time praying for their children like Job did, there'd be less juvenile delinquency. The trouble of it is, our modern American mothers and fathers lead them to drinking, and to card playing, and to cigarette smoking, and things of that sort, which makes juvenile delinquency. It really isn't juvenile delinquency; it's parent delinquency. Neglecting to come to God and find Him, then trouble strikes.When trouble struck Job, he'd offered a burnt offering, come up on the only grounds that God will receive a believer, that's on the burnt sacrifice and the blood. So when trouble struck his house, God was a present help in the time of trouble.
When they accused him of being a secret sinner, he knew that he was righteous with God, because he met God's requirements. Then he could say, "I know my Redeemer liveth. And at the last day He will stand on the earth. Though the skinworms destroys this body, yet in my flesh I will see God." He... Why? He knew that he'd come God's provided way. It isn't the kids that needs the whipping, it's papa and mama, for letting them do like that. That... It isn't juvenile delinquency; it's parent delinquency. And I think a lot of pulpit delinquency, for they just let them get by and say nothing about it, when there it is in the Word.Now, now the Bible...
