DOWN THE MEMORY LANE

THE WILLIAM MARRION BRANHAM

MEMORIAL SERVICE

January 26, 1966Ramada InnPhoenix, Arizona

Testimony And Accident Report
By: Bro. Billy Paul Branham

I would like to thank Brother Williams, the Full Gospel Business Men's chapter here in Phoenix, and the International Directors for this opportunity to speak at this memorial service for my father. As most of you know, I am not accustomed to speaking Somewhere in God's choosing He let me be the one to travel with father for the last twelve or fourteen years, in his evangelist campaigns.
To my knowledge, the first time that I ever gave out a prayer card in a meeting was here in Phoenix, when Brother Branham had the tent service. I believe it was down here on West Buckeye Road I think it was in 1950. Since that time I have traveled with him constantly except for a year while I was away in Bible School.
Brother Williams asked me if I would speak. I said, "No, but then he told me a lot of people had called and wanted to know just how everything happened. I don't know whether I can do that or not, but I will do my best.
Brother Branham and I had planned on going back to Indiana to have a couple nights' service. He had wanted to speak on a subject, entitled "The Trail of the Serpent." He told me to contact Brother Wood, who is a trustee in our church and a very close friend of Brother Branham's, to see about getting the school auditorium for the service. I did this; and before Brother Wood called me back for confirmation, Daddy called me and he said, "I don't think that we should do it." He said, "We will just go back home for the holidays."
So we started back on December 18th. He came over to the house as usual that morning, and you local folks in Tucson Phoenix know the kind of weather we were having. It had been raining for several days prior, and so he had made mention the night before that we would just wear our hunting clothes because he thought we might have bad weather all the way home. He came over that morning about six o'clock.
We left Tucson (my family and I) with his family, and he followed me as he usually did in his station wagon. We left at approximately 6:00 o'clock and had our breakfast in Benson. We drove on to Alamogordo, New Mexico and had our lunch. My son Paul had traveled with his grandpa most of the day, and also because of my brother Joseph.
When we left the restaurant after eating lunch, I made Paul get in my car with me, because I wanted him to take his nap. Dad spoke to me and said, "That is okay. Let him ride with me." So we went on up to Clovis, New Mexico, and we ate supper at a little place, I think it was Denny's Restaurant. We got out, and it was turning very cold. We heard that there was going to be snow around the Amarillo area that night. So before we left the restaurant Dad said, "How far do you think we ought to go, Paul?"
I said, "Oh, I don't care." I said, "Loyce has been feeling bad, so I guess we had better stay in Amarillo." He said, "That is fine." So he got in his car, and for some reason that I do not know, my little brother Joseph stopped and was going to get in my car. You know how things are when you are traveling with children. The car was quite crowded, and normally I wouldn't have let him in there. I am certain my wife wouldn't have, Mother wouldn't, and I know Daddy wouldn't have, unless it was in the divine will of God to do so. So he got in my car with me.
We had just crossed into the Texas line, around eighty or ninety miles from Amarillo, when I saw a car coming, and the headlight of the approaching car was out on the driver's side. I thought it was a motorcycle at first, because it was right in the center line. I didn't pay much attention to it. It was just a little after dark, I would say around 7:30 at night. When it came closer I could see that it was a car, and that one of the headlights were out. As I said, it was on the driver's side. The headlight that I had seen was right in the middle of the line, and so naturally the whole car was on my side of the road.
I swerved to my right, blew my horn, and just glanced in my mirror as I missed him. I saw the car pull back over on the right side of the road. I looked again, and I saw two cars hit. The car had swerved directly into Dad's path. All I could see were two cars going in two directions. Dad's car was coming toward me. My wife hollered. She said, "It is your daddy!" I said, "No there was a car that I had just passed that is between me and Dad." I thought that Dad was still another car behind them. So I hit my brakes to go back to help them.
When I got back to where the scene was, one of the boys was lying in the road. I went up the highway. There was beer, liquor, something (I don't know) all over the road. I saw this car down to my left in a ditch. I turned off the road, and when my headlights hit it, it was Dad. All I could see was his head sticking out. To me, I can just tell you what I thought. I thought that he was gone. I told my wife, "He is dead." So she jumped out of the car and ran over there. It was just like a freight train had hit it. Such a mess.
I had left Joseph and my son, Paul, in the car, and had rolled up the windows and locked the doors, and had told them to sit there. Dad and I have traveled many miles together, and we have seen lots of things, lots of accidents, and I have seen lots of people die. I have seen lots of people killed instantly on the road. It was a sight that I had seen before. So in my conscience, I knew that he was gone because his eyes were open, and his face looked swollen. It was just that look that lots of us have experienced.
I got out of the car. I just didn't know what to do. I ran to him. Joseph started screaming, and when he did, his head dropped. I picked his head up in my hand, and he said, "Who was that?" I said,"That was Joseph, Daddy." I said, "Are you okay?"and he just looked at me. He didn't say anything.
This has a special meaning to me because of a tape that he spoke on, "Sirs Is This The Time?" I cannot say that this is true, but I know that he never responded until Joseph cried for his daddy! Then Dad said, "Tell Joseph everything is O.K."
My wife was over talking to Mother, and trying to arouse her. She hollered for me and she said, "Billy, your mother is dead." I ran over there, and I finally found her up under the dash where the heater was. I laid my hand over on her. I felt her arm but I could feel no pulse. I felt her heart and I couldn't find any. I can't say; but I just couldn't find any pulse.
I looked in the back seat, and my sister Sarah was lying there, just moaning. So I came back to Dad, and he was so caught in the car to where he couldn't move. His left arm was in the door, and the metal was just jammed in up on it. His left leg was wrapped around the steering wheel. Most of his body, his head and shoulders, were projected through the windshield, just lying on the hood.
To give you just a little something I want to say here, a few weeks before that Brother Gene Norman, a friend of ours from Tucson, Don Wertz, and myself went hunting with Brother Brewer, (I don't know whether he is here or not) up to Kaibab, and while we were hunting, I became ill. I have kind of a nervous condition - melancholy I would say, I don't know - I just went up into the hills. It was night time. I started crying, and I lost my supper. Just nerves, I suppose. I came back down. I saw Daddy take off his hat and bow his head standing by the fire. In just a few minutes you know it was all gone.
Then as he stood around the fire, he couldn't eat his supper. I asked him if I could fix him some soup or something. He said, "No,"and he took off, walking down the road. When he came back I could see there had been tears in those eyes. I told the brethren, "You just don't know what, he is going through." I said, "You just don't know!"
He came back to the fire and I stepped over by him after awhile when I didn't think the Brethren were looking. (I don't know if they were or not.) I said to Dad, "Are you feeling all right?" And he said, "It is okay."
Just before we went to bed that night he said something that I have never heard him say before, that I can remember. He spoke to Brother Norman, a friend of ours from Tucson, and said, "Did you all see Billy go up into the bush a moment ago?" And they all said, "Yes."He said, "You see, that is the reason Billy likes to always be with me. He says he knows that if I will just pray for him, it will be all right."
He said, "Brother Norman, you remember a few weeks ago when you fell off the fence when we were hunting and tore up your ankle?" He said to him, "You didn't think that you could walk on it for many, many days, and I just laid my hand over on you, prayed for you, and in a couple of days you were back to work." Brother Norman acknowledged this to be true.
He said, "I was hunting several months ago, and I just made a little sprain on my ankle." Then he started unloosening his boots and he said, "Look at this," and it was still black and blue. He said, "Billy was so nervous that he didn't think that he could make it." He said, "You are okay now, aren't you, Paul?"

I said, "Yes."
He said, "It is just that little touch." He said, "I have prayed for this ankle, and it is still the same. I prayed for this nervous condition, and it is Still here." He said, "It is not for me. It was sent for you." I didn't realize that then. It was just words to me then. But the night of the accident, he looked at me and he said, "Can you get me out?"
Well, I tried, I really tried. I said, "No, I can't, Dad." I said, "Dad, look at me." He opened his eyes. I said, "You speak the word, and you will come out of there."I had his head in my hands like this. He turned his head to the right, never spoke a word, but just tumed his head from me like that. Then I knew what he meant when he said it wasn't for him, it was for us.
To emphasize this to you; after I went over and saw Mother before the ambulance arrived, I came back to him and said, "Dad, I know you are hurt bad, but I think Mom is dead." I said, "Sarah is okay, but I think Mom is dead." I will never forget that.
He said, "Where is she?"
I said, "She is over to your right."
So somehow, I don't know how, but I know he moved his right hand, and he laid it over on her, and to the best of my knowledge this is what he said: "Lord, don't let Mommy die. Be with us at this hour."
When I came back to her, Mom was moaning and moving. I asked him, "Should I move Mother?" He said, "No, just leave her." I asked him about Sarah. He said, "Leave her also."
The ambulances came, and took Sarah and Mom away. We still couldn't get Daddy out. When the ambulance returned, we still hadn't gotten him out. They made two loads with the other car, and we still couldn't get him out.

The traffic was lined up for 6 miles in both directions. Finally a man came with a four wheel drive truck. He had a logging chain on the truck, and they put it around the door and tried to pull it off. But they couldn't. I asked them if they would put it up in the windshield, where that brace comes down. I said, "If you pull it long enough that I can get under there, I can get him out." So they did. They pulled it until the front gave way so that I could crawl over Daddy's right shoulder, go down under the front seat, and untangle his legs that were under the dash and the steering wheel. He spoke to me and said, "Catch me, Paul." He fell over in my arms, and I pulled him from the car.
We took him to the hospital. When we got there they had brought the others in. The boy that hit him was dead on arrival. Mother and Sarah were in the emergency room, then they brought Daddy in. After he got in there the Doctor said, "Is that your daddy?"
I said, "Yes Sir."

He said, "Well I don't give him much of a chance, Son."

I said, "Yes Sir." I didn't know whether to call for help or just what to do, so I just sat there and tried to pray and hold on to what he had taught me.

They took him in for X-rays. He said, "We are going to take him to Amarillo because he needs special care. They all have to go, but your daddy has to go first because he doesn't have that much chance." Then Daddy went into shock, (or so they call it) and they couldn't send him. They sent Mom and Sarah on up and made another load up with the Mexican boys.

When I came out the doctor asked me, "What type of blood do you have?"

I said, "I don't know, sir."

He said, "Well we have to give him blood immediately. He is getting too weak."

I said, "Well, we will go check." It wouldn't work with my type of blood. They looked in the blood bank, and they didn't have any. They sent to Amarillo and told them to bring back, I think it was three pints of blood from there. They got hold of the sheriff because he had the same type as Daddy.

He was so far gone when they gave the blood to him, that when I walked into the room, they had him in some kind of a bed, in the emergency room, that stood him directly on his head. They said he couldn't receive the blood lying down flat. He took this blood for approximately eight hours, I would say. Then they told me, "I don't know how he is living." I forget the doctor's name, but he said, "When I came to give him the first bit of blood, his blood pressure was zero over zero. I have his blood pressure up now."He asked me if I could go in the ambulance with them to Amarillo. I said, "Certainly."

So a nurse and I took him to Amarillo, which is eighty or ninety miles from Friona, Texas. We left about six o'clock that morning, and we got there around seven thirty. The doctor was there to meet us. He checked him just the same. Daddy was still unconscious. He checked his X-rays and so forth, and said, "Is that your father?"

I said, "Yes sir."

He said, "I saw you praying for him."

I said, "Yes sir."

He said, "I hate to tell you this, but you would be better off to pray that be would die."

I said, "No sir. I can't do that, sir."

He said, "A man can't live with that many injuries."

I said, "I believe he can."

He lived for six days in the hospital. I can't say that he was conscious, and I can't say that he wasn't because he would make motions to me and to different brethren that went to see him. We prayed. We got hold of men of God and prayed. I have always heard Daddy say, "Outside of God there is no hope."How true this is.

On the fourth day they said, "We are going to run a test on him. I guess you have been noticing him. We have watched him for the last forty-eight hours. His left eye is going shut." The doctors term (I don't know what it was) either meant that he had a blood clot or else he had a stroke. He said, "I believe that he will die tonight. We are going to run a test." I forget what they call it now. It is kind of a dye they run into the main artery of the heart, and then they see where it goes from there and how it goes into the brain. He said, "If it is a blood clot on the brain, we will have to go in there and take it out."

They took him up, and about an hour and a half later they were back. They called us into the room. He said, "We could find no blood clots." I might be wrong, but to my knowledge he said "The blood wouldn't go through the jugular vein." He said, "Your daddy's bra;n is swelling. When the brain touches the skull, that is all." He said, "I will give him a little bit of room here so it can swell, and I will give him some medicine to try to reduce the swelling. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't." This they did, and he lived for two more days, as they expected.

Then the night before he passed away, we were singing in the waiting room of the intensive care unit. We were all sitting outside, singing, and praying. It was very dark. I believe one of the brethren mentioned this last evening. To my knowledge we were singing, "It Shall Be Light About The Evening Time" because we knew that Daddy loved that song so very much. As we were singing, the sun broke through the clouds, and the sun looked just like this pillar of fire we have seen many times in the meetings. I knew then the time was close.

On December the twenty-fourth, Christmas Eve, I was downstairs Brother Pearry Green came and said, "Doctor Hyde wants to see you." It didn't alarm me, because that wasn't Daddy's main doctor. He was a bone specialist. So I went up and he said, "Mr. Branham." I said, "Yes sir." He said, "I have the sad news to tell you, your father passed away at 5:49."

Well, you could just.. . you know what I mean. So I came out while the brethren were standing there, and told them. I said, "One thing I remember, he said, 'If you ever hear that I am gone, you stop for just a minute and take your hat off and sing one chorus of Only Believe." This we did.

Brother Pearry Green then said he would take the body to Jeffersonville, where I had requested that the funeral be held. I had to tell Mom and Sarah, who were still in the hospital. I didn't tell you about their injuries. Mother had a broken left leg and head injuries, and my sister Sarah had a broken back in several places.

When I told them, they, said, "We are going back to Indiana." I told the doctor they wanted to go, so we tried to get things ready. The only way the doctor would let us go with them, was to get a ambulance plane. Brother Moseley and the brethren here we with us. They got the plane. We chartered two planes and took them back to Jeffersonville. When we arrived they were put in the hospital, and we went on down to the funeral home.

When I looked at that body, it didn't look like my dad. The I thought, "He is not there at all." I know it was for some reason that I thought that way. We had the funeral on a Wednesday. Many people came. Those who couldn't come sent their sympathy and their love, and we appreciate this so very much.

I know it has been asked, so I must tell you. We did not bury our father. I said, "Lord, if you let me get through this funeral service, that is all I can do. I can't commit him to the ground Mother will have to make that choice." I went to her, and she said "I don't know whether I want to live in Tucson where Daddy had just built a home for us."(They were planning on moving in after we came back from Jeffersonville.) She said, "I don't know just where I want to be, but where I am, I want him to be there also."

I asked the coroner, (who is a very good friend of mine) if he would give me permission to keep him there, or if I could just put him in a vault or something like that without committing him to the ground, till after Mother decided what she wanted to do. He said "I love that man too much for that. I will keep him here in the funeral home. When you decide, then you can have the service." Up to now we don't know, but we must make a choice within the next few weeks. We know that Mother will make the right choice. So we desire you to pray for us.

My mother is home in Jeffersonville in the parsonage now. My sister is still in the hospital. She is able to walk, but she can't sit. Just as soon as she is able to sit, then we are going to bring her back to Tucson, to our home here, or wherever the Lord leads.

I don't know how to tell you of what I have to read to you now, but I said, "Lord I have never spoken much before, maybe five or six words before a congregation." When Brother Williams asked me to come, I said, "Brother Carl, I can't come out there. So many times I have brought him in to that old platform, I just can't do it right now, Brother Carl." Then I thought, "Now Dad wouldn't want me to be that way." So I prayed, and I came.

Brother Williams gave me his room over here, and as you know, Daddy always said, "I can't get Paul out of bed." I kind of like to sleep late. But somehow this morning I woke up about 6:00 o'clock, which is very unusual, and I couldn't go back to sleep. When I woke up I thought, "I am so lonesome for Dad." This might not mean anything to you, but I would like to read you something that just came to me this morning. Please excuse the way I read the words, but I want to read something that was a comfort to me, in my heart. I would like to title this "My Dad."
"I am lonesome, oh so lonesome for the man I called
"my dad."
It seemed like all the world would end, when I lost
the greatest friend I ever had.

You may now ask me, then why be sad?
But please remember, he was my Dad.

My Dad is not here with me on this great memorial day;
I know he could have been, but he chose the straight
and narrow way.

He never wanted wealth or fame,
But only pointed us to Jesus' name.

I wonder why should it be that it should be a car
wreck,
But it made the Bride take a closer check.

He was not a large man of stature and voice,
But if you ever heard him preach, you knew he was God's
choice.

His nature was gentle, he never tried to offend.
But this was not so when he cried out against sin.

He preached a great message called Sirs Is This The Time?
Then he brought us to Tucson for God's answer to find.

I wondered why God told him to go way out west?
But I never said nothing because he always told me,
"Paul, God knows best."

He told me not to worry, for God's ways He reveals.
Then the answer came forth, the mystery of the seven seals.

To me he was the messenger of Malachi 4:5 and Revelation
10:7,
And God knew best when he took my Dad to heaven.

The message he brought came straight with the Word.
Although rejected, but never a man before him stood.
I love this prophet of this fast dying race.
And I believe this message, and I will meet him by God's
grace.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Can God forgive her if she told him (husband) most of the things of her past but still left out certain things?

Question: Before finding out about the Message, a sister was living in the world, however she met a brother from the message and they got married. When her husband asked her about her life before their marriage, she was not truthful, and neglected to tell him certain things. However, later after they got married, she told him most of the things of her past but still left out certain things. The fact that she has not yet told him haunts her every second of every day. What should I advise this sister? She wants to know if God will ever forgive her if she asks Him to, without her having to tell her husband.

Answer:

“Question, Brother Bill, what is the difference between fornications and adultery, Matthew 19:9? Jesus said in Matthew 19:9, "Whosoever putteth away his wife and marries another, except it be for the cause of fornications, commits adultery." The difference between fornications and adultery, the word could be applied either way. But to make it clear what he was talking of there, that--a woman that's unmarried cannot commit adultery, because she has no husband to commit adultery against. It's uncleanliness for her. She has to confess that to her husband before they are married if she's did that. If not and her husband finds it out later, he has a right to put her away, because she took a false vow. For the Bible said, "Be it well..." or ritual says. "Be it well known to you (I have it in mine) if any couples are joined otherwise than God's Word does allow, their marriage is not lawful. I will require and will charge you both as you'll surely answer in the day of judgment when the secrets of all hearts shall be disclosed, if either of you know any impediment why you should not be lawful joined together, do you now confess it." There you are. See? So fornication is what a girl, when she lives unclean, that's fornication, 'cause she has no husband. But when she's married, and then when she lives like that, she commits adultery against her husband.“ [Questions And Answers Jeffersonville, IN 59-0628E]
“Into this holy state these two persons present come to be joined. If there's anyone here that can show a just cause why they should not be lawfully joined together in this holy matrimony, do you now speak, or from hereafter, forever hold your peace. I will require and will charge you both, as you'll surely answer at the day of the judgment when the secrets of all hearts shall be disclosed, if there's either of you that know any impediment why you should not be lawful joined together in this holy matrimony, do you now confess it, for be it assured unto you that any couples that are joined otherwise than God's Word doth allow, their marriage is not lawful.“[Wedding Ceremony Shreveport, LA 63-1201W]

"I will require and will charge you both, as you'll surely answer at the day of judgment when the secrets of all hearts shall be disclosed, that if either of you know any impediment why you should not be lawful joined together in this matrimony, do you now confess it; for be it assured unto you that any couple that are joined otherwise than God's Word doth allow, their marriage is not lawful. But duly believing that you have considered this solemn obligation that you're about to assume, then that you have prepared to enter upon the same, reverently, discreetfully, soberly, and in the fear of God, I shall propose to you the marriage covenant. You will declare the same as you join your right hands together.“ [Wedding Ceremony Jeffersonville, IN 65-0220W]

“One, I want to name three things here that she must not get away from. Now, I'm speaking, keep the church in mind while I'm speaking this to the natural woman, as Paul is here, in the 7th chapter of Romans. She has a sacred trust of virtue committed to her by her Lord: a certain virtue. Nothing else holds it but a woman. That's right. That's committed to her by God. She must not defile that virtue. If she even does something wrong, she must confess that to her husband before he takes her; and make it right. Just the same as the church that was married to the law has to come also before Christ, before the second marriage; she has to confess that. If she doesn't and she lives with her husband for ten years and then confesses it, he has a right to put her away and marry another woman. That's the Scripture. Fornication is unclean living. "Joseph, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost." He was minded to put her away privately, see, after he'd already engaged to her. When you are engaged to her, as far as God's concerned, you're married to her.“ [Invisible Union Of The Bride Shreveport, LA 65-1125]

FLASH BACK : IN 2002 HAROLD HILDEBRANDT VISITED MALAWI AND MOZAMBIQUE

We have returned from Africa visiting two countries, Malawi and Mozambique. We left Edmonton on Nov 5th and returned Nov 28th.
The first country we visited was MALAWI. Bro. Dixon Kandoji - Pastor of Bride Preview Tabernacle in Blantyre, had arranged a convention in Blantyre. They estimated that there were over 3000 in attendance at the climax of the meetings.

Bro. Don Bablitz from Whitehorse, Yukon and myself had teamed up for this trip and we took turns ministering to the people.

Pictures of the Convention in Malawi
I always enjoy ministering in Malawi. The people there have such a sweet spirit, and as always, Bro. Dixon did a tremendous job of interpreting for us. The Lord gave us a tremendous time in His presence around the Word.
On Nov 11th we left for Mozambique. Bro. Dixon had arranged for us to go to seven different places. We loaded up a truck box full of books at the Voice of God office in Blantyre, and we were on our way.
Because of the civil war that Mozambique experienced for many years, the conditions in the country are very primitive and the road conditions are very poor.
Our first meeting in Mozambique was a place called NAMARROI. Just a little country place high up on the mountain side, but people gathered from miles around and we had two services there.
The language of Mozambique is Portugese, although many of them understand Chechewa, which is the language spoken in Malawi. So in every service we had to go through two interpreters, from English to Chechewa to Portugese.
Here are a few pictures of the church and the people, and also where we slept for the night.

Pictures in Namarroi
The people in the remote parts of the country have no bathroom facilities. Bro. Dixon had instructed them to build an outhouse (toilet) for us before we got there.

From NAMARROI we went to MOCUBA, where we had one service in a village in a little mud church. The church seats about 35 people. There are no seats in this church, the people just sit on the floor. But we had a great time in the Presence of the Lord.

The next morning, Nov 14th, we travelled to a place called LICUALE approximately 80km away. Because of the road conditions it took us about 3 hours to get there. We only had one service there but it was a long service because Bro. Don and I both preached.

Our next scheduled meeting was in MILANGE, close to the Malawi border. We arrived there late that night, very tired. Because it was the weekend, they had scheduled 4 meetings. People came from many miles away. Some walking, some by bicycle - up to 150km away. Many little groups had come together for these meetings. The little church could not hold all the people that came - some sat outside under a makeshift canopy. There were probably 350 people or more by the end of the services. Bro. Don and myself took turns expounding the Word of God while the people sat on the floor listening to the Word.
The meetings in Milange

Ministers gathered from many areas to come to the Milange meetings
We had a ministers meeting after the Saturday afternoon service. Approximately 50 ministers and deacons were in attendance. The meeting lasted about 3 hours. One of the needs that came up during the meeting was the need for tape recorders for the ministers to use for their congregations. We were able to leave some money to help them buy about 15 tape recorders.
The next place we visited was MUTARARA. We arrive there late because we had trouble at the border. It was almost 10:00 P.M. before the meeting started. We were tired, but the people wanted a meeting. Some of them had arrived 4 days before we got there, and they were hungry waiting for the Word of God. We had 2 services in MUTARARA. This congregation was building a church, they had the walls up, but they needed a roof. We left some funds for them to buy iron sheets to roof their church building. We also helped buy a used motorcycle for this pastor and another minister who travel to different villages to minister.
In Mutarara
After the service that afternoon we travelled to CAIA which was about 50km away. Many people had gathered there from as far as 150km away.
We had 2 services there - one that night and another one the next morning. This assembly was also building a church. They were using it, but it had no roof. We were able to leave funds to help them put a roof on the church. A little bit of money goes a long way to help the saints in Mozambique.

From CAIA we travelled to DONDO, a town not far from BEIRA which is quite a large city. CAIA to BEIRA is approximately 400km. Altogether we travelled about 3000km during our trip in Mozambique. DONDO was our last stop. They had arranged a weekend of meetings in which several churches were cooperating in this meetings. Even some denominational pastors were in attendance.

Bro. Harold Hildebrandt ministering in Dondo

Churches from Beira and Dondo had gathered
Everywhere we went we could see the hand of God and God meeting the needs of His people, fulfilling the scripture in
Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."

Pray for the churches in Mozambique. Some of them are quite new in the Message - they need teaching, but they are hungry for God.

Matthew 9:37 "Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Pray ye therefor the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest".
May God bless you,
Your Brother in His Service

Will YOU SIGN FOR A GREAT BIG BOX FULL OF RATTLESNAKES ?

SECOND.MIRACLE_ ERIE.PA SUNDAY_ 51-0729E, E-35 Now, say, some of you ladies tomorrow, what if the express agent would come down to your house and say, "How do you do, are you Miss John Doe?"
"Yes."
"Well, I have something here for you."
And you looked at it, it'd be a great big box full of rattlesnakes. Well, what a present. There's your name tacked on them. "These are yours."
Are they? In one sense they're yours, in another sense they're not. Now, you say, "I don't want them."
"Well, they're yours; your name's on them."
Well, that's one way it's yours, but still it isn't yours till you sign for it. And if you don't sign for it, he will have to take it back. You might see all your symptoms, the devil says, "Here it is; here's your cancer; here's your heart trouble; here's your crippled condition."

SECOND.MIRACLE_ ERIE.PA SUNDAY_ 51-0729E, E-36 Refuse to sign for anything the devil brings. He will have to take it back. Say, "I refuse to have it. I just won't have it, no, sir." He will have to take it back in the Name of the Lord. If you believe it, and confess it, and say, "I've accept Jesus Christ as my Healer," there's no affliction or disease can stay on you. Stay right with it.
But the first time that you get weak and say, "Well, yes, I've still got it." Then you drop right down to where you was at. You signed for it, then took it back. Say, "Yes, Mr. Devil, I--I'll have it back." Oh, brother.
You stand right there as--as long as there's a breath in your body, say, "I refuse to have it. I refuse to have it." How do you feeling? "Wonderful, hallelujah." That's it. That's right. Show the devil what you're made out of; you're borned again by the Spirit of God, and you don't have to bow down to his images. Stay right there, say, "I don't want your stuff."
"Why, here's your name on it, the doctor said..."
"I don't care what he said. I know what God said. Get away from here with it."
That's right, that's the way to treat him; hand it back. He was the one give it to you, he will have to be the one take it back.

WORKS.I.DO.BEAR.WITNESS_ TALLAHASSEE.FL MONDAY_ 53-0216, E-13 Jonah said, "They are lying vanities." He said, "Once more will I look to Your holy temple," told God.
Because when Solomon dedicated that temple, he said, "If Thy people be in trouble anywhere and look to this holy place and pray, then You hear from heaven."
And he believed, Jonah believed that God heard Solomon's prayer. And he started saying, "I'll not look at this whale's belly. I'll not think about my backslidden condition. I'm looking towards Your holy temple and making confession." And God sent oxygen down there, and kept him alive for three days and nights, and delivered him right in Nineveh where he belonged.
Well, if Solomon prayed that prayer, and if... There's no one here that's in the condition or half way like Jonah was. You ain't got nothing like the symptoms he had. Well, if he, in that condition, could look to a temple where it was built by hands of a man, and a earthly being, a man, Solomon, sitting and praying, and could have faith in Solomon's prayer, how much more ought you and I, tonight, setting here, look to the throne of God where Jesus stands at His right hand with His Blood there to make intercessions on your confession. Just refuse to have the symptoms.

WORKS.I.DO.BEAR.WITNESS_ TALLAHASSEE.FL MONDAY_ 53-0216, E-14 Symptoms is something like, say tomorrow, when you go home now, to your place, the express agent will come up and say, "Are you Mrs. Joe?"
"Yes."
"I have a present for you."
"All right. What is it?" He hands over a--a basket, or box, and you hear something hitting in that box. You look in it. It's a big box of snakes, rattlesnakes. Well, you don't want them things.
Well, you say, "I don't want them."
"Oh, but they're yours. Somebody sent them to you. Here's your name. Here's the name. It's somebody sent these snakes to you; they're yours. You have to take them."
Now, in one sense of the word they're yours, in another sense they're not. Somebody sent them to you, but they're not yours until you sign for them that you've received them. And when you sign you received them, then they're yours. But if you refuse to sign for them, he has to take them back to the express company. The express company has to send them to the one that sent them to you. Is that right?
Well, don't sign for nothing the devil brought. No, sir. Just refuse to have it. No, sir. Say, "I just haven't got it. Devil, you take it all back. That's all. I won't have it." Refuse to have your sickness, your arthritis, whatever it is, "I just haven't got it. By His stripes I'm healed." Stand right on your ground. Confess it. Believe it. Stay there. God will bring it to pass. No matter what it is, just believe Him.

EXPECTATIONS_ JONESBORO.AR THURSDAY_ 53-0507
E-25 And he believed that God heard Solomon's prayer. And if Jonah under those circumstances could believe that God heard Solomon's prayer, how much more ought we, when we look once more to Thy holy temple, where Jesus sets at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven, with a bleeding... His Own body as a sacrifice. "Once more will I look to Thy holy temple, Lord." Yes, sir. God kept him alive for three days and nights, and delivered him over in Nineveh where he belonged.
Notice, how marvelous. Symptoms is just like... In the morning some of you women here, what if the--the postal man in the morning, or say the railroad express agent would come up to your house and say, "Miss John Doe?"
"Yes."
"I have something here was sent to you." And you look at it.
And you say, "What is that?" And you look into it, it's a big box. And in there's a big box of rattlesnakes. "Why," you say, "I don't want those things."
"But they're yours; somebody sent them to you."
"Why," you say, "I don't want them."

EXPECTATIONS_ JONESBORO.AR THURSDAY_ 53-0507
E-26 "But now, Miss Doe, here's your name on it. Somebody sent them to you; they're yours." And he will do everything he can to make you take them. Now, in one sense they're yours, in another sense they're not. They're not yours till you sign for them. But if you refuse to sign for them, he have to take them back to express agent; he has to send them back to the one that sent them.
Don't you sign for nothing the devil brought; refuse to have it. Don't have it. No, sir. The devil put that affliction. The devil put that disease there; just refuse to see it. Just say, "No, sir. I won't sign. I won't testify for nothing you said. I will testify by His stripes I am healed." Brother, he will take it back.

EXPECTATIONS_ JONESBORO.AR THURSDAY_ 53-0507
E-27 "Oh," you say, "yeah, but I know. But here it is." Oh, sure, the snakes are there too. Your name is penned unto it. He might've marked you for a death with a cancer, with anything else. But refuse to see it. No, sir. "By His stripes I'm healed."
"Testify" means "say the same thing." If I testify in court, something another, I got the say the thing that I seen. And "testify" means "say the same thing God said." And I've got to say what He said. He said, "By His stripes I'm healed." And I believe it. Amen. Then I will tell you. Listen to this children. The Word of God will--will defeat Satan anywhere, any place, on any conditions, anytime.
When Jesus was here He was God. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, but He never used any of His gifts. When He met Satan, He brought the Kingdom of God so low, till the weakest of Christian can use it. When Satan come to Him and said, "If Thou be the Son of God, command these stones..."
He said, "It is written." The Word. He took Him up, tried to whitewash the Word for Him. And Jesus said, "And it is also written."He took Him up to the top of the mountain, said, he had to look all these kingdoms, "I will give them to you if You'll worship me."
He said, "It is written." There it is.

EXPECTATIONS_ JONESBORO.AR THURSDAY_ 53-0507
E-28 And it is written, "Whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe you receive it; you shall have it." Then defeat Satan with the Word of God. Just say, "It's written. God promised me. I go to church and the pastor anointed me with oil, prayed for me, and I was prayed for. That's exactly what God said would happen. And it's written." Just go right on refuse to have it. God will bring it to pass.
Now, in the days, a moment before the reading or closing here, a little service... Then we're going to have the prayer. Look in the days now when Simeon just before the coming of the Lord, it was just about like a day like this: cold, indifferent.
We're talking about America has got a great revival. I don't know where it's at. I've never seen it yet.

Are You Ready?

Before we get into the Subject of whether or not we're ready for the Second Coming, let's settle the question of whether or not we can recognize the Second Coming or make it into the Resurrection or Rapture based on what our Parents, Grand-Parents and ancestors believed in previous Ages? Well, would man be able to fly from one country to another,  go to the moon or mars based on what our ancestors knew and believed. Of course the answer is "NO!"
Of course, today's scientists do not "fault" previous generations for not being able to do what this generation can do. They had not progressed in scientific revelation and understanding to do these things. It's the same in the "Spiritual Realm" - previous generations walked in the measure of Spiritual LIGHT which God had ordained for their day.
Paul, in Hebrews 6 did encourage the Believers to "go on to perfection". Don't stay with the basics principles. If we fail to move on with God in the Progressive Revelation of His Word then we are backsliding, not in our flesh but in our "souls". "If we were once enlightened, tasted of the heavenly gift, made partakers of the Holy Spirit and the powers of the world to come...it is impossible to renew us again to repentance if we  willingly refuse to go further with God." Read Hebrews 6:1-6. Disobedience will keep us out of the Rapture. God requires a lot more of us in this LAST Age then He did of previous Ages. They didn't need the knowledge and revelation of the Rapture and Second Coming which we need. Keep this in mind as we consider our own readiness for what God is Doing TODAY.
Are you ready for the Coming of the Lord? Are you expecting the Resurrection of the Dead in Christ? Are you anticipating the "changing of your own body" to be caught away with the Resurrected Saints to meet the Lord in Glory? Remember the Bible says, ".....unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." Hebrews 9:28. Are you sincerely, from your heart "looking for" and "expecting" the Second Coming of Christ wherein we will receive a body "fashioned like unto His Glorious Body"? Philippians 3:21. Like Paul, do you have a heartfelt desire to leave this old sin-cursed world and go to be with Jesus? "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2nd. Corinthians 5:8.
The Signs spoken of in Scripture are all around us. The Forerunner promised in Malachi 4:5-6 has come and gone, leaving a Message wherein lays the Revelation of the Second Coming of Christ, the Resurrection of the Dead in Christ, and the "Catching Away" of the FEW, VERY FEW Living Saints who are READY.
Remember, There won't be many "living Saints" on the earth at the time of the Second Coming of Christ, the Rapture and the Resurrection of the Dead IN Christ. Most of those who will be a part of HIS Bride are already in that other dimension waiting for the FEW "Living Saints" to get ready. This is the hour wherein Christ said, "When the Son of Man cometh, shall He find Faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:8) The Faith referred to here is "a belief in the 'whole body' of revealed Truth". There'll be a lot of religion and churchanity, but VERY LITTLE Holy Ghost Faith. The people know more about the Church than they do about Christ and even less about His Word.
In and through the ministry of the "forerunner to the Gentiles" our "Lord, Himself descended from heaven with a shout", giving to the Bride of this Age the "whole Body" of revealed Truth, to give her Faith to walk of the earth without seeing death. (1st. Thess. 4:15-18.) But, as stated above there won't be many. "As a thief in the night He has came", (1st. Thess. 5:2-4), calling His Elect Bride, giving her His Word, causing her to "line up with all of it" to receive Rapturing faith. As the Logos Word of God was made flesh and Raptured (caught up) in the Bridegroom (Acts 1:9) even thus shall it be made flesh and Rapture (caught up) in the end time Bride.Praise the Lord! Are You Part of that Bride?
But, I ask again are we ready for this great event, daily lining up with the Word, getting closer to the Lord, building ourselves up in the most holy faith and becoming more conscious of eternity than of time. Like Jesus as He neared the end of His ministry "He knew that HIS hour was come to depart out of this world unto the Father" (John 13:1); even so the Bride  "knows that HER hour has come to depart out of this world unto her Bridegroom".
She has heard the shout of the forerunner and is awake and "trimming her lamps to go in to the Marriage Supper of the lamb". (Matthew 25:7)  Hallelujah!  Do you, like the WISE virgins, have that "extra oil" of the Revealed Word for this age with which to trim your lamp? Be wise in the WORD, not "fools and slow of heart to believe ALL that the prophets have spoken" Luke 24:25 - Thus did Jesus say to the Disciples on the road to Emmaus. Disciples who were pondering the First Coming of our Lord, but failed to understand that HIS rejection by the Church of that day and HIS Crucifixion was ALL fulfilling Bible Prophecy. Remember our Lord did come the First time and will return the Second time exactly according to the Scriptures - not according to the pre-conceived ideas and interpretations of man.
In His First Coming, the forerunner, John The Baptist, came with a "Message" which revealed the "Mystery" of His Coming. The Alpha Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ - from His birth in a manager to His death on the Cross was a Mystery to the people. He showed the "Messiah Sign", discerning the thoughts and intents of the hearts of the people. Even Nicodemus, a sincere Pharisee, admitted "we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him." John 3:2. They acknowledged His miracles but could not recognize or come subject to His Message.
The dispensation was changing from law to Grace. In this Age the dispensation is changing from Grace to Judgment.  The Pharisees were so set in their church ways they were blind to Truth. In this Age of the Omega Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ people are so set in their religious ways that they are "willfully blind" to the Truth - willingly ignorant - 2nd. Peter 3:5. The religious people of John the Baptist's days refused to allow their "hearts to be turned back" to the Truth from which they had drifted. The vast majority of the religious people of this Age have drifted from the Truth into church creeds, modernism and hypocrisy. They refuse to go on to higher heights and deeper depths in the Word to get Rapturing.
John The Baptist's Message gave the Disciples the "Faith" or Revelation of the First Coming. The Faith or revelation of the Second Coming, resurrection and Rapture lays in the "back to the Word Message" of William Branham, the forerunner and messenger of the Second Coming. We must needs examine ourselves in the Light of  the forerunner's Bible Vindicated Message to see whether or not we are in the faith of the Second Coming -READY for the secret "catching away" of the Living Saints.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE GODHEAD

THREE (3) MAINLINE DENOMINATIONALBELIEFS ON THE GODHEAD
and their discrepancies
--------------------o0o-----------------------

There are three most common beliefs about the Godhead today. These are the (1) Trinity Doctrine, (2) The Oneness Doctrine, and (3) The Twoness Doctrine. Which of these teachings do you embrace?
1. The TRINITY Doctrine

PREMISE: THREE PERSONS IN ONE GOD, SHARING THE SAME POWERS, OCCUPYING THREE THRONES IN HEAVEN
Discrepancy in the doctrine:
THREE PERSONALITIES = THREE GODS
This belief breaks the very First Commandment of God that says, "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me". Revelation 4:2 states that there is only "one throne" in heaven. How can three persons be one God?

2. The ONENESS Doctrine

PREMISE: JESUS THE MAN IS ALL THREE
(Father, Son and Holy Ghost)
Discrepancy in the doctrine:
If Jesus is the Father, why did Jesus pray to the Father if He is already His own Father? Why did He cry at the cross, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?" Was Jesus just acting it out? Obviously not.

3. The TWONESS Doctrine

PREMISE: THERE ARE TWO GODS:
THE ETERNAL FATHER & ETERNAL SON
;
MAKING THE HOLY SPIRIT JUST A MESSENGER OF THE TWO
Discrepancy in the doctrine:
A ‘SON” is ‘BEGOTTEN’. The word “SONSHIP” signifies a ‘BEGINNING”. There is no such thing as "eternal son". The word "ETERNAL" means no beginning and no end".

THECORRECT UNDERSTANDING OF THE GODHEAD
INTRODUCTION
God, all throughout the Old Testament did not have a body, but appeared to the people in different forms, such as the Burning Bush to Moses, the Cloud by day, and the Pillar of Fire by night, to the children of Israel. Though He sent His angels to many who appeared as men, but no one ever saw God in physical form until Jesus Christ was born.

John 1:18 says, “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him”.

GOD IS A SPIRIT
The Scripture states that, “God is a Spirit; and they that worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth” (John 4:24). In Isaiah 43 and 45, we can read that God the Father said that He alone is God... "And [there is] no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; [there is] none beside Me."(Isa. 45:21) "Before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me. I, [even] I, [am] the LORD; and beside me [there is] No Saviour." (Isa. 43:10-11)
In these scriptures we can clearly see that there is only one God, (not two or three as others believe) for in His very First Commandment, Elohim (the self-existing One) solemnly said that "Thou shalt have NO other gods before Me..." (Exo. 20:3)
GOD'S THOUGHTS AND ATTRIBUTESWay back in eternity, before there ever was a star, a moon, or a galaxy, Elohim has eternal thoughts and attributes that He wanted to express and manifest for His own pleasure and glorification. He hath seen all things from the beginning, for He is infinite and all knowing.
Elohim wanted to be God. The word "God" means "an object of worship". But there was no one that worships Him at that time and so He then created the angels first, so that He as God is worshipped and is proclaimed as God almighty.
Elohim wanted to become a Father. Yet how can He be called a "Father" when He Himself has no children? And so in God's mind He wanted to create sons and daughters unto himself so that He could become their Father. Thus, we know that this plan of God was fulfilled and manifested later on. He created Adam and from him He took Eve. It's a type of the church which was taken from the body of Christ, for the Bible says, "we are flesh of His flesh, and bones of His bones."
Elohim wanted to become a Saviour. But you see, how can He become a Saviour when there's no one to be saved in the first place? There has to be a fallen entity first before He could ever display his attributes as a Saviour. We can therefore conclude from this case that God hath foreseen the fall of man and He permitted man to fall from grace in order for God to fulfill His majestic plan of saving them. Man was placed as a "free moral agency" to choose for himself between good and evil. Adam and Eve fell for the wrong choice. But God prepared the solution for sin even before the foundation of the world. Revelation 13:8 tells us that the "Lamb was slain "before" the foundation of the world" to act as an atonement for sin. And God wrote our names (God's elected seed) in the Lamb's Book of Life even before man could ever commit sin. Christ came to redeem these predestinated seed.
Elohim wanted to be a Healer, too. Yet how can He become a Healer when there's nobody sick? There has to be a sickness first before He could be a Healer. Which was first, the sickness or the Healer? We can then conclude from here that sicknesses and afflictions are part of God's permissive will to man in order to show and manifest to mankind His attributes of being a Healer. Psalms 103:2-3 states, "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth ALL thy diseases." Consider the afflictions of Job, blind Bartimaeous, the woman with the blood issue, and more. They just declared the glory and healing power of God and served as testimonials of God's grace through each generation.
God also wanted to manifest Himself as a King, as a Priest, and as aJudge. So there has to be a kingdom set-up, a holy tabernacle set-up, and a judgment bar set up. These are His eternal thoughts and intentions before the foundation of the world, to get glory unto Himself.

Yet God knew that as a Spirit He will never be able to fulfill these plans of his without having a "body" that will act out His plans. For example, it is written in His Law that “Almost all things are by the Law purged with blood; and without the shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22). Redemption requires death. Can a Spirit bleed and die?

It takes BLOOD, therefore, to pay the penalty for sin. Yet no man's blood, no angel, no priest, no animal's blood, was ever worthy to redeem man in his fallen estate. God must do it Himself, for there is no Saviour but Him alone. He must do it in order to show that He alone is the ONLY Redeemer. In Isaiah 45:22, God said, “Look unto Me, and be ye saved, for I AM God, and there is none else.” “Thou shalt know no God but Me; for there is NO SAVIOUR BESIDE ME”.(Hosea 13:4).
God is the only Saviour there is. The key to the whole mystery of the Godhead is this. God knew that He, as God, could not die and bleed in the Spirit, for a Spirit has no flesh and bones. His own law required blood for an atonement.

So in order for God to fulfill His plan of redeeming mankind, He had to put on a veil of flesh, in order to taste death and pay the penalty for His own law, to justify the ungodly. That is to fulfill Romans 3:28, “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast” (Eph.2:8,9).

THOUGHTS EXPRESSED INTO "WORD"
God, then began to express Himself from eternity, by His spoken Word. Time began when God started speaking. This great Fountain of Spirit which had no beginning or no end, began to express His attributes by the Spoken Word. Out of the existence of the Father went out the "Logos", which was the Word, which was God's "Theophany". It was was a visible body of the great Jehovah God going forth in the beginning. It was called the "Logos", which in the original Greek, means “something spoken; which includes the thoughts of the Speaker".

That Logos was God's "express image". It was God Himself made into Word. That Logos that went out from the great eternal Spirit was called the "Son" of God. It was the only visible form that this Spirit had. And It was a "theophany", which means a celestial body, and that body was like a "man".

Time, then, began when that "Logos" came out of God, as evident in the succeeding scripture. John 1:1-3, "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made” ..And the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.” (John 1:1-3, 14).
From that "theophany" is where man was also created by God, after His own image, which was a "spirit-man":

"And God said, Let US make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."(Genesis 1:26,27).

The "Let US make man in OUR own image" in the above verse refers to God the Father (the great Spirit) talking, speaking to His Theophany Body, which was His begotten Son. We can see here that man was created from that pattern, with both spirit and body realms. We were never created from the image of angels.

Rev. Branham taught this: "You will never be an Angel. God made Angels, but God made man. And what God does is off of God, which is as eternal as God is. And man's just as eternal as his Creator, because he was made from eternity. (HEBREWS CHAPTER 5 AND 6, JEFF, IN 57-0908M). "Brother, I'm telling you; I believe in the resurrection. God will speak one of these days, and we'll come forth in His image and in His likeness, men and women, not angels, but men and women. God made Angels; we'll never be Angels. We wasn't made for Angels. Men are made men. God made man. He intends him to be man. It's God's pattern." (EL.SHADDAI.title LA.CA 59-0416)The "theophany", which was the Son, is also what's spoken of inColossians 1:15-17, which reads: "Who is the IMAGE of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: and He is before all things, and by him all things consist."
That theophany of God was then made FLESH on earth later on in the Person of Jesus Christ Jesus through the womb of Mary.
Revelation 3:14 speaks of Jesus as the "Beginning of the Creation of God". That is Who the Lord Jesus says He is. But those words don't mean exactly as they sound to us. Just taking them the way they sound has made some people (in fact multitudes of people) get the idea that Jesus was the first creation of God, making Him lower than Godhead. Then this first creation created all the rest of the universe and whatsoever it contains. But that is NOT right. You know that doesn't line up with the rest of the Bible. The words are, "He is the BEGINNER or AUTHOR of the creation of God."

Now we know for a surety that Jesus is God, very God. He is the Creator. John 1:3 "All things were made by Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made." He is the One of Whom it is said, Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth". Also it says in Exodus 20:11, "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day." See, there is no doubt that He is the Creator. He was the Creator of a FINISHED PHYSICAL CREATION.

Surely we can see what these words mean now. To have any other interpretation would mean that God created God. How could God be created when He, Himself, is the Creator?

GOD MANIFESTED IN FLESH
And thus, God fulfilled His plan of salvation, the fulfillment which is written in 1 Timothy 3:16 which states: “And without controversy, great is the mystery of Godliness, God was manifest in the flesh.”

When was God manifested in flesh? It was when Jesus Christ was born through a woman; without any resulting sexual act but it was God Himself making both hemoglobin and egg cells in the womb of Mary, God Himself taking the form of a man.

Jesus Christ was the FLESH of God, none other than God Himself creating a BODY of His own. That fleshly BODY was called the “SON”, while the SPIRIT indwelling that body was the “FATHER”. Not two Gods now, but God veiling Himself in FLESH. That’s the reason Jesus said "I and My Father are one." (John 10:30).
Philip, the apostle, one time said to Jesus (John 14:8-9), “Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.” And Jesus answered him saying, “ Have I been with you so long and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip? He that hath SEEN ME hath seen the Father.”
The name "Jesus" means "Jehovah has become our Saviour". Jesus was also called “Emmanuel”, meaning, “God WITH us”, God dwelling with men.

When the Father decided to come down as our Saviour, He put on a robe of flesh and planted Himself, as a seed, in the womb of Mary. This seed was to produce the flesh and blood of the Body He would dwell in as the Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is God becoming man, to redeem man back to Himself. God could not die in the Spirit because He's eternal. But He had to put on a MASK and ACT the part of death. He did die, but He couldn't do it in His God form. He had to do it in SON form, as a Son of Man on earth.

JESUS, THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD
Apostle Paul says this about Jesus in Collosians 2:9-10: “For in HIM all the FULLNESS of the GODHEAD dwells BODILY, and ye are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power”...”In Whom we have REDEMPTION through His BLOOD, even the forgiveness of sins : Who is the IMAGE of the INVISIBLE GOD... And He is before all things, and by Him all things consists” (Collosians 1:14,15,17).

JESUS, therefore, is the EXPRESS IMAGE of the unseen God, God creating a FLESH-BODY of His own. And man could have never seen God except through Jesus Christ, the FLESH of God.

THREE DISPENSATION OF THE ONE GOD
“God ABOVE Us” - that’s how God was known in the Old Testament, in the Fatherhood dispensation. God dwelling in the heavenlies, where no man could ever touch Him.

When the the time for the Sonship dispensation came, fulfilling the prophesy of Isaiah 9:6 which says, “For to us a child is born, for to us a SON is given: the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty GOD, and everlasting FATHER, Prince of Peace”, these all pertain to the FLESH of God - JESUS, being God Himself becoming Emmanuel, which being interpreted “God WITH us” - God Who can now be touched by the feeling of our infirmities.

It was God also fulfilling Isaiah 53:5, “But He (God) was WOUNDED for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him: and by His stripes we are healed” - all fulfilled and completed at the Cross of Calvary.

In these last days, after Jesus has been resurrected and glorified, God has sent us back His Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to indwell every believer. Thus, we are now living in the HOLY GHOST Dispensation.
As 1 Cor. 6:19-20 states, “What? Know ye not that your body is the TEMPLE of the Holy Ghost which is IN YOU, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify GOD IN YOUR BODY, and in your spirit which are God’s.”

THE SPIRIT OF JESUS IN THE CHURCH
JESUS is that self-same Holy Spirit; as He has attested in John 14:18, saying, “I will not leave you comfortless, “I“ (Personal Pronoun) WILL COME TO YOU.” “I will be with you, even IN YOU until the end of the world.” Galatians 4:6 states this, too, “And because ye are sons, God has sent forth the SPIRIT of His SON into your hearts, crying Abba, Father.”

Jesus’ own Spirit is now “God IN Us”, the “Hope of Glory” (Colossians 1:27). It is the SELF-SAME GOD all the time, never changing His power, just changed His form from the heavenly to the earthly, and then back again as the Great Spirit, after having fulfilled His great redemptive story.

He was “GOD ABOVE US” in His Fatherhood dispensation; “GOD WITH US” in His Sonship dispensation; and now “GOD IN US” in the Holy Spirit dispensation.

Jesus said, “ I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA, the Beginning and the Ending, saith the Lord, Which IS, WHICH WAS, and WHICH IS TO COME, THE ALMIGHTY” (Rev.1:8) Not three persons in One God but ONE GOD in three dispensations.

JESUS IS BOTH MAN AND GOD
Jesus, talking to the Jews one day, said, “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he was glad.” Then said the Jews unto Him, ‘thou art not yet fifty years old and hast thou seen Abraham?’ Jesus said unto them, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:56-58).

Who was the great “I AM”? Remember the burning fire that talked with Moses on the holy mountain? That was the “I AM”, the self-same Jesus speaking to the Jews. They could not see that Jesus was their own God VEILED IN FLESH.

"The Jews answered him saying, “For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that Thou, being man, makest Thyself God” (John 10:33). They really failed to see that He was the Emmanuel - both MAN and GOD. Jesus also is the WORD that became FLESH and dwelt amongst us (John 1:1,14).

JESUS certainly was a man weeping at the grave of Lazarus. But when He shouted, “Lazarus, come forth!”, and a dead man, four days and stinking, arose and lived again - that was more than a MAN! Who can raise the dead but God alone.

He was a man hungry that night looking on a tree for something to eat. But when He took five bread and two fishes and feed five thousand - that was more than a man. That was the creator, JEHOVAH!

He was a man laying on the ship that night, tired and asleep, while the waves come up. But once he arose and rebuked the winds and the waves and said, “Peace be still!”. That was more than a man. That was God Who can control all nature.

It was a man crying for mercy at the cross, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” But on Easter morning, when He broke the seals of death, hell and grave, and rose up again and said, “I AM HE that was dead, and behold, I AM ALIVE FOREVERMORE!” Who was that? That was the same God Who also said, “ I have power to lay my life down, and raise it up again” (John 10:18).

JESUS, BACK TO A “PILLAR OF FIRE”
Let us remember that after Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection, Jesus ascended up into the heavens. And when SAUL of Tarsus was on His road to Damascus to persecute the Christians (Read Acts 9:1-5), a BIG LIGHT, a PILLAR of FIRE struck him, and he asked, “LORD, who are You?” SAUL knew that It was the same Pillar of FIRE that appeared to Moses, but that Pillar of FIRE answered him, saying, “I AM JESUS, whom thou persecutest.” See, He had TURNED BACK, exactly back to THE SAME FORM before He took on a tabernacle of FLESH - the Pillar of FIRE that met Moses in the wilderness.
Remember, It was the SAME Pillar of Fire that came to PETER that night and loosed him out of the prison cell (Read Acts 12:5-7).

That SAME Pillar of Fire (Cloven Tongues of Fire) appeared on the Day of PENTECOST and set on each of those at the upper room, dividing Himself, giving part of His Spirit among His church (Acts 2).
Peter declared in Acts 2:36, “Let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that SAME JESUS, whom ye have crucified, BOTH LORDAND CHRIST”. There He is - LORD (Fatherhood), JESUS (Sonship), CHRIST (Anointed Holy Ghost) - The LORD JESUS CHRIST, the complete manifestation of the ONE TRUE GOD.

Finally, consider this: Who was the FATHER of Jesus? Matthew 1:18 says, “She (Mary) was found with child of the HOLY GHOST.” But Jesus Himself claimed that GOD was His FATHER. Therefore, God the Father and God the Holy Ghost make the Father and the Spirit ONE, OR ELSE JESUS HAD TWO FATHERS. But notice also that Jesus said that “I and My FATHER ARE ONE”, NOT TWO. That makes ONE GOD, NOT THREE.
The entire Bible does not say a thing about a First or Second or Third Person in a ONE GOD. The mystery is found in 1 Timothy 3:16: “And without controversy, great is the MYSTERY of Godliness, GOD was manifest in the FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles; believed on in the world, received up into glory”. The ONE TRUE GOD was manifest in the FLESH. That’s how SIMPLE it is. GOD CAME IN A HUMAN FORM. That didn’t make Him another God. He was GOD, THE SAME GOD.
If you cannot accept this TRUTH of the Godhead, but refute it, Jesus said that you are still living in SIN; for He said in John 8:24, “For if ye believe NOT that I AM HE (God), ye shall die in your sins”. “He that believeth not the SON shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36).
JESUS IS JEHOVAH MADE FLESH
JEHOVAH of the Old Testament is JESUS of the New Testament. That is the great MYSTERY of the Godhead. NOT THREE GODS, but THREE DISPENSATIONS and three OFFICES of the same ONE GOD. Never can we find any Scripture that declares that there are THREE GODS in the Holy Writ. If you do, you are breaking the First Commndment which says, “I alone am GOD, thou shalt have no other Gods before Me.” GOD Himself declared in Isaiah 45:21 that, “There is NO GOD BESIDE ME; a just God and Saviour, THERE IS NONE BESIDE ME.”

JESUS confirmed this truth in Mark 12:29 saying, “The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is ONE LORD”.

The whole thing was JEHOVAH GOD condescending Himself from His heavenly estate to an earthly body He called JESUS, fulfilling His sovereign purpose of becoming Saviour, Redeemer and Healer by shedding His OWN BLOOD as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

”Of Whom as concerning the FLESH, CHRIST came, Who is OVER ALL, GOD Blessed Forever” (Romans 9:5). AMEN.

REV.WILLIAM BRANHAM SPEAKS ABOUT THE GODHEAD:

Here are some quotations gleaned from the end-time prophet William Branham.
1. Brother Branham believed that Jesus Christ is God Himself made man:
"JESUS was GOD in the form of a man. That's hard for people to swallow.. He wasn't nothing less than God. He was GOD manifested in FLESH. He was the Creator in His own creation."

(God's Gift Always Find Their Places/63-1222)

"I believe HIM to be GOD: Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. That He wasn't just a prophet, that He wasn't just a man, that He wasn't just a teacher or a good man, HE was the DIVINE JEHOVAH GOD living in a BODY of Flesh."
(Who Is This?/59-1004)
"The Beginning Of The Creation Of God." That is Who the Lord Jesus says He is. The words are, "He is the BEGINNER or AUTHOR of the creation of God." Now we know for a surety thatJesus is God, very God. He is the Creator.

John 1:3-"All things were made by Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made." He is the One of Whom it is said, Gen. 1:1 - "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth". Also it says in Ex. 20:11, "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day." See, there is no doubt that He is the Creator. He was the Creator of a FINISHED PHYSICAL CREATION. Surely we can see what these words mean now. To have any other interpretation would mean that God created God. How could God be created when He, Himself, is the Creator?

(336-2 LAODICEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.9)

2. Brother Branham believed that the BODY of JESUS was GOD's own flesh:

"That's exactly what HE was. "We handled God," the Bible said. 1 Timothy 3:16, "Without controversy, great is the MYSTERY of Godliness, GOD was manifest in the FLESH." We handled HIM with our hands. That body was God. Certainly was. He was God all over, in the form of a human being."
(The Token/64-0308)
"It wasn't the blood of a Jew. It was the Blood of God that saved us, not the blood of a Jew. He wasn't no man's Blood. He was the creative Blood of Jehovah God, Who created the Blood cell. He wasn't neither Jew not Gentile by Blood. He was God. God's Blood saved us."

(WITNESSES_ PHOENIX.AZ WEDNESDAY_ 54-0303)

"And there, God, the Creator, wrapped around Himself and created a Blood cell, the virgin not knowing any man. If you don't believe that, you're still in sin. She had nothing to do with a man. God, Himself... Christ was not a Jew. His Blood wasn't a Jew, neither was it a Gentile. It was God's Blood. The Blood cell come from the Male, and the Male was God. The Bible said we're saved through the Blood of God, no sex into it at all. There it is.

(CHRIST_ PHOENIX.AZ MONDAY_ 55-0221)

"And you Catholic people, not to disagree with you, but call her,"Mary, mother of God," how could God have a mother? She was an incubator.
You say, "Well, the--the egg come from the woman."
But the egg didn't come from Mary. If the egg come from Mary, then there had to be a sensation. Look where you put God. God created both egg and blood cell. He was neither Jew nor Gentile. He was God, nothing less."

ZACCHAEUS.THE.BUSINESSMAN_ TUCSON.AZ MONDAY_ 63-0121

3. Brother Branham believed that JESUS is the very PERSON of GOD:

"So you see, JESUS was GOD. He was not NO third person, fourth person, second person, HE was THE PERSON, HE was GOD, see? He was GOD Immanuel, God come down from glory, revealed Himself."

(God's Gift Always Find Their Places/63-1222)

4. Brother Branham believed that GOD DIED in His SONSHIP FORM:

"GOD veiled in JESUS to do the work of REDEMPTION at the cross... GOD could NOT DIE in the SPIRIT; He's ETERNAL. But HE had to put on a MASK and ACT the part of death. HE DID DIE, but He couldn't do it in His God FORM. He had to do it in SON form, as a Son of Man on earth."

(Unveiling of God/ 64-0614m)

"Your BODY has to LIVE by DEAD SUBSTANCE for natural life, then you've got to have something DIE SPIRITUALLY to SAVE your SPIRITUAL LIFE. And GOD BECAME MATERIAL, FLESH, and DIED that WE MIGHT LIVE."

(Sir, We Would See Jesus / 62-0724)

1 JOHN 3:16 - "Hereby perceive we the LOVE [of GOD], because HE laid down HIS LIFE for us."
5. Brother Branham believed that GOD had NO BODY until HE became JESUS:
"GOD is a SPIRIT. He had no hands till He become JESUS.He had no feet, arms, legs and so forth, till He become JESUS... HE come to a stable, borned over a manure pile. And Little JEHOVAH crying in a manger, little JEHOVAH playing as a boy, little JEHOVAH toiling as a man, He crossed His cast with us. GOD BECOME HUMAN. When JESUS CHRIST was born, GOD was HUMAN on earth... He toiled and labored and felt for the teen-ager. HE went through every temptation that we go through. GOD DID IT, that He might do His own judgment justice."

(Show us the Father/ 60-0731)
"It come to a place that HE was TRANSFORMED. See? That means HE CHANGED His way. HE was GOD Jehovah. And God JEHOVAH changed Himself FROM a SPIRIT and BECAME A MAN. He's the SAME JEHOVAH GOD living in a BODY of FLESH."

(Let Your Light Shine Before Men/ 64-0614m)

6. Brother Branham believed in only ONE GOD; NOT TWO OR THREE:
"There is NO three or four Gods. THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD. There is THREE ATTRIBUTES of GOD: Father, Son and Holy Ghost, BUT they're NOT THREE GODS. GOD the Father was in the wilderness, as a PILLAR of FIRE. All right. GOD The SON: GOD the FATHER CREATED a BODY which was GOD THE SON, and LIVED in the SON. See?"

(A Court Trial / pp. 31)

"If there were THREE Gods, you might as well baptize for a FATHER, and a SON, and a HOLY GHOST. But the REVELATION given to John was that there is ONE GOD and His NAME - LORD JESUS CHRIST, and you baptize for ONE GOD and only ONE... If JESUS is BOTH LORD and CHRIST, then HE (Jesus) is, and cannot be else but "Father, Son and Holy Ghost" in ONE PERSON manifested in FLESH. It is NOT "GOD in THREE persons, Blessed Trinity," BUT ONE GOD, ONE PERSON with THREE MAJOR TITLES, with THREE OFFICES manifesting those TITLES. HEAR IT ONCE MORE - This SAME JESUS is "BOTH LORD and CHRIST". LORD (Father) and CHRIST (Holy Spirit) are JESUS, for HE (Jesus) is BOTH OF THEM (LORD AND CHRIST). If that doesn't SHOW us the TRUE REVELATION of the GODHEAD, NOTHING WILL. LORD is NOT another ONE; CHRIST is NOT another ONE. THis JESUS is LORD JESUS CHRIST - ONE GOD."

(Seven Church Age Book/ pp. 29)

7. Brother Branham believed that GOD lived in Jesus Christ, Body, Soul, and Spirit:

"But the first thing YOU ARE a TRIUNE BEING, just like Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Father, Son and Holy Ghost is THREE TITLES going to ONE PERSON, which is JESUS CHRIST. And YOU'RE soul, body and spirit. But it takes THOSE THREE to MAKE YOU. With just ONE of them, you're NOT YOU. IT takes THREE to make YOU.. YOU'RE living in a HOUSE - SOUL, BODY and SPIRIT. THAT'S THE WAY GOD LIVED in JESUS CHRIST, both SOUL, BODY and SPIRIT."

(Inner Veil/ 56-0121)

"Now in my HOME, I'm THREE different PEOPLE. In my home my wife has claims on me as HUSBAND. My daughter out there, she doesn't have any claims on me as HUSBAND; I am her FATHER. And my little grandson there, I'm GRANDFATHER to him; so he has no rights to call me FATHER. I am his grandfather, BUT I'm still the SAME MAN."

(Mighty God Unveiled / 64-0629)

8. Brother Branham believed that JESUS is JEHOVAH even from BIRTH:
"You know, HE was once a BABY HIMSELF. Talk about a SIGN, Isaiah 9... When they asked for a SIGN, God gave them a SUPERSIGN: "A virgin shall conceive and bear a child. His NAME shall be called Counselor, Prince of Peace, Mighty GOD, the everlasting FATHER. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN STRIKING - JEHOVAH, a BABY; JEHOVAH GOD, a BABY crying in a MANGER. It ought to have been striking: JEHOVAH, a TEENAGE BOY playing; JEHOVAH, driving nails as a carpenter. Oh, my! And ABOVE ALL: JEHOVAH NAILED TO A CROSS TO SAVE SINNERS, it should have been striking!"

(Unbelief Does Not Hinder God/ 62-0128)

9. Brother Branham believed that JESUS is the Creator:

"And that great CREATOR BECAME my SAVIOUR, come down to a little BLOOD CELL, NOT through a man, but come virgin to a woman; and took thils little pollen from the woman, and FORMED HIMSELF A LITTLE HOUSE and LIVED IN IT. Oh, it - it ought to be striking. JEHOVAH over a pile of manure in a barn, crying: JEHOVAH in a MANGER of straw. That's an EVERLASTING SIGN."

(Smyrnean Church Age/ 60-1206)

10. Brother Branham believed that MELCHISEDEC was JESUS Himself:
"Now, MELCHISEDEC, the King of Salem, the Priest of the Most High, the King of Peace, which was NONE OTHER THAN THE FOREPART of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and when HE met Abraham, He fed Abraham the COMMUNION and blessed him.. WHO WAS THIS PRIEST? NONE OTHER THAN THE INCARNATED LORD JESUS CHRIST. In His magnificent power He was the same ONE a LITTLE LATER ON, after HE met Abraham, and gave him, as being a COVENANT PEOPLE, the COMMUNION."

(Melchisedec the Great Prince/ 55-0109m)

When Jesus was manifested in the Old Testament in a theophany, in the Person of Melchisedec, not a priesthood, but the Person, the Man... See? For this Man Jesus had yet not been born, but He was in a theophany so He had no father, no mother. He was God Himself. He was manifested in the form of a Man called King of Peace and King of Righteousness. See King of Salem, which is? He was Melchisedec. He had neither father nor mother, beginning of days of ending of life. See? It was Jesus in a theophany in the form of a man.

(CHRIST.REVEALED.IN.HIS.OWN.WORD V-4 N-10 65-0822M)
11. Brother Branham said that GOD in His "FATHERHOOD" office was the indwelling Spirit; while the "SONSHIP" office was His human flesh, Jesus.
"Jesus said that God was with Him, "I and My Father are One. My Father dwells in Me.” Not Jesus, and being one with God; but God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself. And you Onenessbrethren, many of you get off the wrong track when you try to think that God is one like your finger is one. He can't be His Own Father. He can't be."
(Palmerworm Locust Caterpillar 59-0823 140)
"Now, it's many times it's been said that no man can see God at anytime, the Bible said so. But the only begotten of the Father has declared Him. Philip, here was very inquisitive; he wanted to see the Father. Says here He said, "I've been so long with you, Philip, and you don't know Me?" Said, "When you see Me you see My Father." In other words, you see the Father express Hisself through the Son.Him and the Father were one in the sense that His Father was dwelling in Him, not Him doing the works; He was a Son, Himself, the immortal, virgin born, Son of God. And then in Him was dwelling the God the Father, expressing Hisself to the world, His attitude towards the people. See? Well, that's how Christ and God were one. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. Now, He said, "When you see Me, you see the Father, and why do you say, 'Show us the Father?'

(SHOW US THE FATHER IT'LL SATISFY 56-0422 E-36 )

"That's the reason people couldn't understand Him. Sometime it was Christ speaking... or was the Son speaking. Other times it was the Father speaking. He was a dual Person. He was one Man, the Son. God was in, which was tabernacling in Him. But what did He do? Did He go around saying, "I'm the Healer." Very contrary, He said, "I'm not the Healer." He said, "It isn't Me that doth the works; it's My Father that dwelleth in Me." And in Saint John the 19th chapter when He was questioned for passing a whole bunch of crippled, lame, withered, halt, blind people, healed one man laying on a pallet, the Father showed Him to go there and heal. Walked away and left the rest of them laying there, they questioned Him. A man packing his bed on the sabbath. Listen to what He said. Saint John 5:19: "Verily, verily, I say unto you: The Son can do nothing in Himself, but what he sees the Father doing, that doeth the Son likewise." Is that what He said? "I do nothing till the Father shows Me a vision first what to do."
(JEHOVAH JIREH 56-0429 053)
12. Brother Branham said that if people can't believe the true REVELATION of the GODhead, they wont be able to understand the mysteries of the Bible:
"If people CAN'T SEE the TRUTH of the GODHEAD, but FIGHT it;they can't ever see the rest of the TRUTH because the REVELATION is JESUS CHRIST in HIS CHURCH and HIS works in the MIDST of the Church Ages."

(Seven Church Age Book/ pp. 309)

Conclusion

Brother Branham never taught us TWO OR THREE PERSONS in a oneONE GOD. God's prophet taught us that there are THREE "MANIFESTATIONS" OR "THREE OFFICES" of the ONE GOD, but not TWO orTHREE PERSONS in a ONE GOD. The "Fatherhood" is an office, the "Sonship" is an office, and the "Holy Ghost" is an "office". Yet God is all of them. You can't cut God in TWO or THREE PIECES and give Him to a Jew. The Jews always believed in only One God as was stated in the First Commandment that was given to them by God through their prophet Moses. Yet they missed seeing that that One God came down and manifested Himself in a human flesh. That's why they could not believe in Jesus when He said, "I and My Father are ONE."
The teaching of multiple gods came from Pagan Greek and Pagan Roman Empire (Zeus, Jupiter, Hermes, Venus, Mercury, etc) and was adopted by the Roman Catholic Church, and by most of the Protestant churches today.
Yet God is not ONE like your finger one, as the ONENESS GROUP of people teaches it. The ONENESS denomination makes Jesus the MAN as the Father also. Brother Branham said it could not be. JESUS was the BODY-FLESH of GOD called the SON, while the FATHER was the indwelling SPIRIT dwelling inside that Body. God could not die in theSpirit, so he created a BODY for Himself in order to redeem us from our sins. "For without the shedding of BLOOD, there is no remission of sins." A Spirit could not die, so God made Himself a human body and wrapped Himself into it. That's the mystery of the Godhead. Yet that does not mean that Jesus the flesh is NOT God just because He died. Jesus was both God and man. He was the first of His kind. But we will be like Him after this corruptible body has put on incorruption and this mortality has put on immortality, for Jesus is the firstborn amongst many brethren. The mystery of Godliness is this, "For without controversy, God was manifested in FLESH"(Read 1 Tim 3:16).
Man needs to get the exact revelation about the Godhead or else he will fall into serving a God he personally does not know.
