MEXICAN BLIND MAN HEALED

And as they come up to the platform, there was an old Mexican man. He was blind. And when he got up there, he took out a little beads, and begin to saying, "Hail Mary, mother of God."

I took his hand. I said, "That's not necessary, dad." The interpreter, Espinoza, interpreted. And he was blind. I said, "I'll pray for you."

And just as I started to pray for him, I looked down, and he was bare-footed. His clothes were dirty and dusty; his face was wrinkled and his cheeks need shaving. The tears was rolling down his old wrinkled cheeks. He had his hands out like this, hollering, "Padre, padre." I looked at his hands. I took his hands and laid them over my shoulder, I looked at his face. And somehow, you have to enter in to his feeling.

32 I thought, "How cruel life has been to the old fellow. Maybe he never had a pair of shoes in his life." And I set my foot up the side of his to see if my shoe would fit him. It wouldn't. I put my shoulders up the side of his to see if my coat would fit him. And it wouldn't. And I thought, "There he is, maybe never set down to a good full meal in his life. And he never had a good, decent suit of clothes on in his life. Maybe raised a bunch of little children. And besides all that, now, here he is in gross darkness, blind, staggering around."

I thought if my own daddy would've lived, he'd have been about that age. Something happened; My heart went out for him. There you are. You've got to get into the fellowship of these people.

And I took him up, my arms around him, and I said, "Heavenly Father, please be merciful to this poor, blind man."

He begin to holler, "Gloria a Dios. Gloria a Dios." (Means "glory to God.") I turned him loose, and he run down the platform, kissing everybody. Could see as good as I can, or you can. What was it? It was entering into Divine fellowship of his suffering.

"Bawling them people out like that." -- "You're going to ruin your ministry."

73 Someone got after me; a great, noted minister, not long ago. Said, "Brother Branham, come. I want to lay hands on you." Said, "You're going to ruin your ministry."

I said, "What?"

Said, "Bawling them people out like that."

I said, "I'm telling the…"

Said, "I believe that." Said, "I'm a Pentecostal, too. I believe that women shouldn't wear short hair, shouldn't wear paints, and these things like that the way they do, paint their faces up." Said, "They shouldn't do that. But," said, "God called you to pray for the sick."

I said, "He called me to preach the Gospel." Yeah.

And he said, "I believe in that. But," said, "you think that?"

I said, "Yeah. Look what you got, all these big programs, televisions, and everything else. I ain't got nothing but God to answer to." That's right. I said, "I don't have nothing but God to answer to."

He said, "I—I—I… You're going to ruin your ministry."

I said, "Any ministry that the Word of God will ruin, ought to be ruined." That's right. Certainly. That's exactly.

He said, "Well, you're going to ruin it."

74 I said, "Who is going to tell It then? See? Somebody has got to say It. Somebody has got to stand for that what's Truth, no matter what It hurts." And friends, as Christian, as people that believe we're going to Heaven, the Holy Spirit Itself will type us in the Word of God.

He said, "You know what you ought to do?" Said, "People believe you to be a prophet." Said, "You ought to be teaching these women how to get gifts of prophecy and things like that, and great, higher things instead of little thing."

75 I said, "How am I going to teach them algebra when they won't even learn their ABC's? When they won't even do the common thing, see, the natural thing, how you going to tell them high things?" When you won't even start from the… You want to get on top the ladder before you hit the first. That's the reason you fall. See?

But get at the bottom, and climb right on up as God leads you up. See? Cope your life and ever follow every bit of the Word that God has ordained for you to do.

"You're always harping about women, how they mustn't wear their hair, but you never say nothing about the men."

34  I know Isaiah 5, I believe it is, talked about women, how they will wear changeable apparel and everything like that; but that was pride and stuff, put-on. If you do that for pride, then it's wrong. See? Examine your heart before God. If there's no Scripture for it, and the way the Spirit leads you, you go ahead and do it. But now, when it comes to whether you should have long hair or short hair, you have long hair; that's the Bible.

There's a question here; I—I might answer it right now. It's in here; I seen it this morning or sometime. Said, "You're always harping about women, how they mustn't wear their hair, but you never say nothing about the men."

36  If I seen a man come in here with long hair hanging down his back like a woman, I'd say, "Mister, why don't you go to the barber shop? You look like a woman." See? But men usually don't do that. See? Not as man… Now, not as the infallibility of man, they're just as guilty as the woman.

And by the way, a man that'll let his wife do that, he's guilty double of it, 'cause he's supposed to be the one that has the say so in the house. And that man can't even rule his own house; how could he do it in the house of God? See?

I'm so thankful for our group of women that we have coming here. I say this with respects and love, and now, God knows this the truth. I—I used to have a preacher friend down south that had one of the cleanest looking churches I ever seen. Where come to women, the most beautiful women I ever seen set there saintly, godly, with long hair. And I always admired going to that church. And the Lord Jesus has give me a church today here that outshines that one a hundred miles: my women.

I'm not scolding you to be mean; I'm only so happy for you. I just don't want Satan to get a foot in anywhere. See? I want you to move upward, not backward. Don't never let no man deceive you by some enchantments, or something another like that, or something saying, "Oh well, it don't…" See? That's the way Satan interpreted the Word to Eve. See? You believe just what the Word says. All right.

 64-0823E - "Questions And Answers #2"

"Brother, you're going at it the wrong way."

A young fellow come to me not long ago. He was a Pentecostal. He'd seen too many of these meetings. And he goes in, and his wife is a staunch Lutheran. She said, "Well, I guess you all went down and shouted last night." Said, "I guess you was all speaking in tongues and doing all this last night."

He got out on the floor and said, "God, cast out—I cast the devil out of her. I cast the devil out of her." Almost a divorce case, man, a fine man.

He come to me, and he said, "Brother Branham, we're going to have a divorce, I guess." He said, "I just can't get that devil to move out of her."

I said, "Brother, you're going at it the wrong way." I said, "When she starts like that, say, 'All right dear, bless your heart, honey.' And be real kind to her. Just see how much you can do for her."

He said, "Brother Branham, well, how will I ever get the devil out of her."

I said, "You do as I say, and just keep praying in your heart." See, I said, "God will take care of the rest of it."

He called me up about two or three weeks later and said, "My home's revolutionized." He said, "My wife is a different person."

I said, "Which is the most powerful? Screaming, and kicking, and stomping; or putting your arms around in love?" God is love. God so loved the world…

56-0101 - "Why Are People So Tossed About?"

DON'T MANUFACTURE CHRISTIANITY (DONT PRETEND TO BE SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT)

90. The sheep doesn't manufacture wool. He has wool because he is a sheep. A lot of people trying to say, "Well, I'll try to get good. I'll try to do this." Don't manufacture nothing. No, you can't do it. A sheep doesn't, isn't asked, isn't expected to manufacture wool. It bears wool, and it does it because it's a sheep.

91  And when you're a Christian, you just bear the fruit of the Spirit. You don't—you don't manufacture it. You don't try to make it up. You try… Don't make yourself something that you're not. You just become what you're supposed to be, and then it takes care of itself. Have you heard people say, "Well, I tell you. I'm… I've joined church. I—I really ought to quit this lying"? You're trying to manufacture something again, now. You can't do it, so there's no need of trying to, no more than a—than a—a mule can make hisself have wool. He can't do it. 62-1014M - "The Stature Of A Perfect Man"

94 Well, now that's the way it is, trying to—to manufacture Christianity. You can't do it. The first thing you've got to do, is be born again. You've got to be changed. See? And when you're changed, you become a new creation. Now you're getting right, now. 62-1014M - "The Stature Of A Perfect Man"

And we're not asked to manufacture fruits; we're supposed to produce fruit (See?), bear fruits. See? We are supposed to bear fruits. And as long as you are a fruit tree of God with God's Word, God's Word will vindicate Itself. It'll bear fruit as long as the Word's in there. And Jesus said, "If ye abide in Me and My Word in you, ask what you will, and it shall be done." See it? You don't manufacture it. You work yourself not up to it; it's just actually there. And it goes on and on.63-0317M - "God Hiding Himself In Simplicity, Then Revealing Himself In The Same"

205  And when you are a Christian, you'll cope with the Word. I don't care what anybody else says. You don't have to work up nothing, and bring down nothing, pull, pump up. You're a Christian. You just automatically bear the fruit of the Spirit. See? See, and that's the way it is. See? 206 But, people today, they don't want you fooling with their private life.

207 Only thing you do, just open up every door around, now say, "Come on in, Jesus." Watch what happens. When you see in the Book, you're supposed to do this, you'll do it. Why? You're a sheep, to begin with, then.    65-0206 - "Doors In Door"

And a Christian is a Christian because Christ lives in that person. And makes… Christian means "Christ-like," not a membership; but, a vindication, God producing through you just what a Christian is. It's you getting out of the way and letting God come in, you taking no thoughts. Let the mind that was in Christ be in you. There you are. That's the real Christian. Oh, my! 63-1103 - "Go, Wake Jesus"
