IT IS YOUR CHRISTIAN RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT, DON'T WAIT FOR HIM, GO TO HIM

200  You get here and say, for instance, two man, say Leo and I Well, you have to… And I say, "Well, you know, he wronged me." That don't make any difference; I'm supposed to go to him. Well, he's a member of this church. He—he's become a Christian. He takes the communion here at the rail with me. And we've been baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus, walked upright as brothers before each other, then something happened.

It ain't the man; ninety percent of the time it's the devil got between the people. It ain't the people; it's the devil. And as long as you let the devil doing that, you're harming your brother. That's right.

202  Well, something's wrong with Leo and I; let's go make it up. And if you see there's something, it's your duty to come to us, and say, "Both you boys come here and get together; we're going to straighten this thing up." Now, then if it comes to there… And there, come to find out then, here we are. I say, "Well, first thing, if we—we can't agree, then you come to the church like that."

And then if as long as you don't do nothing about it though, the Blood of Jesus Christ protects us both. See? But then that—that old cancer will start another cancer, and that cancer will start another cancer, and the whole thing will be sick all over the whole church. Then you get to a place you come into church, and just as cold, you'll have to have the janitor come break the icicles out 'fore the congregation can get in. Now, you know that's right. And cold… Somebody set around, you know, and just don't say nothing. "We used to be so spiritual." Well, what happened? You did run well, what was the matter? See, your sins separate you. God will hold you responsible for it, brethren. Now straighten this thing up.

204  Nothing's been wrong with me, nothing wrong with Leo; it's the devil got between us. That's right. Get the thing straightened out. Go to him. Then if he won't listen, or I won't listen, whichever way it is, then tell it to the church. If he don't come be reconciled to that church in thirty days, then he's brought from under the protection of Jesus. We loose him. That's exactly right. Then watch what takes place. Let God do the discipline then. You got your hands off. You done the best you could. Then let God have him for a little bit. He'll turn him over to the devil. He will come then. If he don't, his life is just a short span.   58-0927 - "Why Are We Not A Denomination?"

Now, if there comes something up in the church that's not right, then let the individual, who knows that's not right, go to the person. And if the person will not be reconciled; then the next thing to do is take a witness and go, or maybe one or two witnesses, and go to this person to get them reconciled or get the thing straightened out. Now, listen close! Now, this is being taped, also. And then if that don't work…

34  Don't never let a little ism, or a little something another, a little bad feeling ever rise up among you. Get it out of the way right now!So that's a little… It's the little fox that spoils the grapes, you know. So keep it out of the way! Any little funny feeling, go and tell the person to it. Say, "I'm—I'm wrong. I—I don't feel right towards you, or something. Help me to pray over it, that I'll get better." Because, we don't want nothing but just purely, the unadulterated, Holy Spirit of God among us. That's all we want. Then will the gifts and things will work right and everything will be coming right.

35  Why have a half a church when you can have a whole one? Why accept a substitute when the whole skies are full of the genuine? See? We don't want that. So if a little funny feeling ever comes up among with you members, one to the other, you go to that person.

You say, "Well, they did me… "

That… it's… Now, remember, not "if you have error or fault against a brother," but "If a brother has something against you." See? Go to him and be reconciled, tell him that you—that you've had a strange feeling about him and you want to make friends, and pray and go down at the altar and get the thing out of the midst of you.  61-0618 - "Revelation, Chapter Five #2"

And if you see a brother getting out of the way, go to him, and be reconciled with him if you can. That's right. That's what we got to do. And, friends, if you ever… What are you doing? If you don't do that, you're only making yourself a miserable creature and not a Christian. That's right. And all that you're doing is in vain. 54-1024 - "The Unpardonable Sin"

133 See? If you got something against somebody, your brother, don't tell somebody else about it. If it's wrong, go to him and tell him. And then if he's going to argue with you, then take somebody else with you. Then bring it up the way the Bible said. 62-0601 - "Taking Sides With Jesus"

If I knew tonight that I had an enemy… I may have. I perhaps have. But if I do, I don't know just who it is. If it was, I sure wouldn't go to preaching till I went first and made that right, see if I could get it straightened up, 'cause we're not supposed to have anything against anyone, or if anything we can do, let no one have anything against us. See? And now if… And It don't say, "If you have ought against a brother," but "If the brother has ought against thee," See? you go to him (See?) if he has the ought. And that way, why, we live peaceful.  61-0215 - "Thou Son Of David, Have Mercy On Me"

255  Do you love Him? [The congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] Listen, my Christian friend. If there is an ought in your heart against anyone, go to them now and be reconciled. Forget all the past. And if you've been having an up-and-down life, remember, something has come into that heart, something has moved into those thoughts. No matter who your enemy is, love him. Love him. No matter what's happened, let it go. After all, you're in a field with weeds; we realize that; but we must both grow together. We've got to come up together.  54-1003M - "The Word Became Flesh (India Trip Report)"
